Thread to talk about the spool postings.
Here is a couple of interesting comparo graphs I made.
Sus them out.
Will make some more with more engines when i can be bothered.

SR lil HKS 2530 fat drivability your Garrett 3540 ****ting on the disco spud surprises most people. Disco spuds trendiness over rated spool time vs power payback
RB20
I went from happy spooler Autech T28 to the HKS 2535 and long runnered manifold, gained 40rwhp and made a laggy snotter. I think a good compromise would be a HKS 2530
Tuyens got a good combo power to lag compromise, you're not allowed to bitch about lag anymore

true, i never relised how much lag u guys have!
b005t post ur power up, as your car feels pretty damn fast at low rpm :P

low that low end rb20 power :D
would post up my sr20 graph but its in km/hr not rpm
Hahah, smash my EJ205 graph in there just for a comparison :)
Here are my DD graphs, same mods but with an IHI VF22 vs FP TD06
http://i9.tinypic.com/2ag9k02.jpg
The TD06 makes more power, comes on harder after around 4000rpm, and at the same time its running less boost!

Ok Added the rest in the Random Jpeg. With some SR / RB samples too.
FORCED Cubes FTW in the down low rpm !!
Gee mines laggy until it comes on, compared to the Nissan motors! Once it comes on though, graph jumps very hard.
Typical EJ20 though....long runner manifold, long IC pipes for the lose, but once they come on boost, they ramp up extremely hard.

lonewolf what dyno get em to bring the run up and plot teh 4 points
This is the most interesting thread in al for years, but means getting you wang out for the measuring stick
GREAT thread for sure!
Any ideas as to how diff ratios would affect spool? I'd say shorter ratios would mean that boost doesnt come on as hard or early, because it cant "load up" like taller ratios would allow.

You can't really measure the true driving lag on the dyno as the diff ratio and vehicle weight affect the true feeling.
lag is also a measure of time which is not on the dyno graphs we get.
For example my 2535 rb20 makes more then steves rb20 2535 down low.
But his is in a lighter(ish) r31 where as mines in a heavy gts-4. So the true driving lag might be around the same ... mine could be worse even !!

i must admit the s2 25 snail on a 20 is awsome compramise for power and spool times zed always had power anywhere and never really stopped pulling till about 6500 where the boost would just taper off must admit zed was running about 16-17psi for 2 years or so hahahaha never lost a wheel. Nice midrange thought good for sliding around ect :>

Had runs done at hyperdrive, cant be assed going there to hassle them for another graph.
If someone works out a gear ratio formulation for speed on an s13 gearbox in 4th gear then i shall :P

As 4th gear is 1:1, what rpm you are doing at what speed is purely dependent on your diff ratio. If you are using the standard(?) RPS13 180SX diff ratio of 4.083, you will be going 28.95 Km/h for every 1000 RPM. Therefore:
2000 RPM=57.95km/h
3000 RPM=86.85km/h
4000 RPM=115.8 km/h
5000 RPM=144.75 km/h
6000 RPM=173.7 km/h
7000 RPM=202.65 km/h
If the diff ratio I have used isn't correct, download my GEARCALC program (http://www.locost7.info/gearcalc.php) (it's free) and plug in your real ratio. It makes it relatively easy to work out these things.
EDIT: forgot to say that this is also assuming the standard tyre diameter of 627mm (205/60x15)

Out of injectors, and their settings are all wrong. But we tuned to it anyway.
Waiting on the hks 1000cc for primaries and "indy blue" 1600cc.. then its time to push the button

Sus the leanear delivery of the vq, want to see turner's crapper when he gets it on a dyno that is calibrated to rpm.
Need more submissions for comparos, I think the real world measuring stick intimidates the weak
Definitely - one of the best threads going !

Ok I've thrown up an RB26 one.
I've had to scam most the numbers from graphs that are posted around the place.
Rb26 guys seem kinda soft when it comes to posting there numbers.
Be nice to see some more big turbo rb26's up there.

Also put up random2 there some interesting results in there.
Specially comparing the 26's to other engines.
People might be surprised as the rb20 is up over two RB26's !

post more up you weak ****s

anyone know how to convert speed into RPMs? Then i could post a graph but the dyno wasn't hooked up to my tacho...

Well its got 265/35/18s and stock diff (2000 model had a newer diff to the usual so i dont know...) and it was in 4th gear of course. Anyone help out?

Thread revival.
Been looking into gt35's on rb26's so updated a comparo. Sadly all my attachments on this thread have gone and I dont have them any more.
Whats interesting in this comparo is the rb25's are kinda kicking arse over the rb26's.
The shaun rb26 does really well considering its a 1.06 rear gt35 and has stock cams !!
The kiwi R33 is clearly the winner though !

It's strangly hard to find gt35 graphs in rpm, had to do an SAU hunt !
So please if you have some gt35 dyno graphs in rpm on Any engine, please post them in the spool thread :)
Overall very impressed with the GT35 low end power. They all beat my SR20 setup, which you can find at the bottom. I was very happy with the low end of my SR. So look forward to more on an rb26.
I reckon Stevo should get the R35 on a dyno, so we can see what sort of spool and torque it has at low rpm. I'd say it would be substantial :)
