BOONG-BQ
thats what happens when u take ure prado off the beaten track, the toyota "oh **** its offroad" mechanism kicks in and burns itself before u can go any further.
I did read about that the other day, I beleive it was caused by spinefex being caught on the exhaust.
Yep makes sense too..
Lol @ empty water container...lesson learnt, always carry a fire extinguisher

bloody city slicker thinks he can go off roading just because he has bought a brand new 4x4.
Unprepared, uneducated.
Should have just stuck some chrome 21s on it and stuck to the city roads.

i think u will find he was driving along and the dry grass got wedge under the car
so driving off the grass wouldnt have helped at all

Stuff like this normally happens when you drive over grass that can touch the bottom of the car, it normally touches the hot exhaust and catches fire.

yeh, i meant more towards offroading ability rather than the comfort the kids are in on the way to school. They a good car no doubt.. but its not a reall offroader. And im talking out of what ive seen rather than just what ive heard.

if i had to have a 4wd to go out in the Simpson for example
i would only choose a turbo diesel prado or the new diesel v8 cruiser
i do a heap of accessory fitting to new 4wds and toyotas are far and away the best

This happened to a cop car on tonkin hwy a couple years ago, they have gone to do a U turn across the grass medium strip, car has gotten bogged, exhaust has set grass on fire and in turn set the cop car alight.
big, heavy, long and low.. the perfect recipie for a beach crawler.. my idea off offroading is off slightly boggy sand, proper hills, ruts, mud, rocks.
yeh i would choose one over most if the aim of the game was to get from one side of the desert to another... but cmon thats not offroading, thats "i have to go on sand, might as well be coomftable"

rims are alloy
