I need some new front rotors for my car and was considering gettin some slotted ones.
Car is runnin R32 4 pots fronts and dodgy drum rear brakes so i'm relyin heavily on front brakes to pull the car up.
Do slotted rotors make a noticable diffrence over standard rotors?
Is it worth while buyin the slotted rotors or just buyin a fresh set of standard and some good brake pads?

cheers mike

I have found that a set of slotted rotors and sumitomo pads makes a big difference to braking, on any car that ive driven/fitted them too.

Id be getting DBA though, havent really liked the quality of other cheaper brands

depending one how hard and how often you stop, Dbas normal slotted ones are good...but not great...put a decent set of pads with them and the rotor gets eaten away...(even bendix ultimates chew through them if driven hard)

dbas 4000 series rotor on the other hand, is a nice bit of gear :)

then theres 5000's...but you dooont really need them

just power drill your rotors. the r32 brakes are really good if you can get your hands on a good set of pads.

If you put too much stopping power on the front without touching the rear the cars ass end will be all over the place under heavy braking, especially with drums. Something to consider :)

yeh i realise that, i am currently searchin for a disc brake rear end but is takin some time to source the exact one i need.
But at the mo the front brakes r pretty bad, i think the rotors have been machined thinner than reccommended. If i have to stop on the brakes to pull the car up it does stop pretty quick but when i go to stand on brakes again it feels as though the disc has a huge warp in it and the pedal pulsates.
Then after a minute or so of not touching the brakes it goes back to smooth pedal, i'm guessing the rotor gets hot and warps then cools and returns to shape.
Thats my theory anyway

RDA slotted rotors with some EBC green stuff pads. Now makes my car skid.

Got my RDA's for about $110 each on the front. Pads were about $160 or so for a set.

my brakes were ka fucked when i got my car from japan... rotors must of been sitting in the salt air for ages...

so i ended up getting some dba slotted rotors, the difference was amazing, they are much better to drive with.
