Yeah sort of.

Jolt Cola was released in 1985 in the US.
Originally was a cola with the maximum amount of caffeine allowed by the US FDA.

Red Bull is actually a copy of a Thai drink called 'Krating Daeng' (pretty sure).
It's not really anything like redbull though.

An Austrian dude discovered it in thailand in 1982, then released 'Red Bull' in 1987 (strictly in Austria). In 1992 it was released in hungary. It wasn't released in the USA until 1997.

ive found a deli near me that stocks the strong as shit red bulls, read small 100ml bottles and gold cans of it, something like 3 times the kick of the normal red bulls... im yet to hit one up as ive been stocking them up north for when i go back to night shifting...

taste is similar but jolt comes in 500ml bottle so gives a better kick
both have same caffeine per 100ml
