2JZ + GT35R + 800cc injectors + F-Con V Pro

Can anyone suggest an intake pump to suit approx 450-500rwhp.

I figured an 040 would be on its limits.

Cheers.

Is the Nismo in-tank pump suitable?

It's what I'm running, seems fine for that power level.

Nismo love, that would be blasphemy!

could mod the fittings for a 044 i guess too.

matty, i went with a 10l baffled surge tank, 2 044s and a walbro intank, ended up costing me under a G and i'll never run out of fuel, go something like that... maybe a 5L surgey, 2 044's and a intank of some description.

You COULD do the job with 1 044, but im a believer in redundancy!

Nice new Walborough as a lift pump, then Undercar surge tank with a 044 :)

Nice and neat, will fuel you up good :)

yeah but on a street car ur 044's will become redundant cause fuel will circulate between your hot fuel pumps, hot engine back and back into ur hot surge tank... then it will start to boil and fuck the pumps :)

single 044 in tank was good for 627rwhp in chookos car and just starting to struggle with 575rwhp in my car so im sure 450rwhp is no problem at all

I'm fairly sure your car was out of fuel on the dyno and your pump is dying.

Always used Walbro's, never had an issue

single 044's are rated to 600hp so i dont know how you can make 627rwhp with 1 fuel pump? And yours struggled at only 575? OK PRETTY NORMAL?

and by redundancy, i meant if 1 pump fails, your whole system is up shit creek, at least if 1 of my 044s fails theres another one still going

So a new one should be able to do even better than mine?

Gav's one supports 550+rwhp. I'd say it's about the perfect size for a comfortable 450-500rwhp.

different voltage getting to the pump and fuel pressure may have made the difference between mine and chooko's... but his did make that power with a single 044 mounted in tank

the bad thing about having twin pumps and one fails means your car may lean out without knowing causing motor to go pop pop bang bang, if you only have one pump and it fails your going to know about it cause car will hardly run...

surely with a fuel pressure gauge, if one pump dies you'll see a huge drop in fuel pressure, or not really?

SimonR32
31-07-2008, 12:39 PM
pressure may not drop because its dependant of the reg not the pump...

flow will drop

in theory you should notice a drop,, because the regulator wont change its own setting and there will be less pressure behind it?

Surely you can adapt a water well pump from your somalian homeland... cable tie that sh!t on and have Lips pump on demand?

:p

much love

bosch 023 intank pump

alternative to twin 044's is a single magnafuel pump

agree with twin pumps you wont know ones dead until you need the fuel up top, one pump alone will easily keep fuel pressure until your using the lot!

dont forget when comparing flow on the 044 in different cars that it is a pump with a flow curve - so the amount of fuel you get out of it will depend on you base fuel pressure, not to mention restrictions in filters/line size/rail etc

correct, having way more flow than your engine can use is actually detrimental, you just end up heating the fuel as the excess circulates and hot fuel robs you of power
