killed 2nd gear on my os giken gear set!!!

hi all, i have an s14 and over the fiew years ive had it ive had a fiew probs with the stock gear box's.
so after killing a fiew stockies i picked up this 5 speed os giken gear set. it did alrite out lasting the stockies bout 2 to 1. but now ive done 2nd gear in it and im weighing up the pros n cons on going a r33 box vs a z32 box.

the z32 box has the ajustable shifter but can they both hold the same RWHP?????

rb25 and vg30 box pretty much same same cept the bell housing and shifter arangment.

so a vg30 box with a rb25 bell housing might be the go.

does any1 know what sort of RWHP thes box's are able to hold reliably?

thats a how long is a piece of string question. Depends entirely how you treat it and the condition of the box to begin with.

That said they seem pretty good up to a geniune 400 - 450rwhp range.

The clutch spline of the RB25 gearbox is the same as the SR20 so i can use the clutch n fly wheel i alredy have.

does any1 know about the vg30 box?

all the later nissan boxs run the same input slpine for the clutch. from l series in datsun 1600 though to r34 gtt, they changed for the 6 speed

One of the boys over east runs the 300ZX gear box behind the sr in his drag 180SX and says he hasn't really had too many dramas even though the is pushing 600rwhp. I dont think he has upgraded the internals on it, but will chase up info and get back to you if he has.

thanx guys. nah not going ppg, my mate wid simular HP has broken his ppg box aswell.

prob going to go 4 the rb25 conversion. little bit of chopping n changing but yeh if it ever pops just bang another 1 up in.

no more rebuilding box's.
