the reason they are jacking up the prices and the so called "shittier" acts/lineups are occuring, is due to the music that is considered popular these days.

eg. all the kids who are now 18 or 19 were listening to shit like pendulame and sneaky sound system when they were 16 and 17 (highschool) therefore if the BDO orgynizers get pendulame and Sneaky to play, SHITLOADS of kids are gonna rock up and pay shit loads of their parents money at the show.


eg. #2, if Nirvana were still around, along with Soundgarden maybe also Deftones, Sevendust, etc etc etc basically what me and everyone i know grew up listening to in highschool, were going to the 2009 BDO then without fail every single person i know would be attending this years one.

The organisation was SHITHOUSE.

They tried to shut the area off, and if I had paid for a ticket I would have been fuming as the only reason I went was to see Prodigy. In the end we jumped the fence and ran in, no way in hell I'm standing in the outside section and watching them on a screen, if I want to do that I'll watch YouTube.

Prodigy, wow. The line for them was beyond belief. Luckily there was hardly any security so fence jumping wasn't too much of an effort. pingpingpingpings were going crazy, they had to stop the show so they could get out of trees and off the containers.

Pendulum was fucking insane. Butterfly Effect was going off, The Living End were good as always as were Birds of Tokyo. Getting to prodigy was fucked, hit a wall of people about 50 people deep that were at the fence they locked so nobody could get in or out. Was one of those that jumped the fence along with about 500 people at least, a mate was crash tackled by a bouncer when he did just before me but its like wtf can you do so got let go anyway.

There was going to be a riot with them shutting people out. And yes they were off the hook, such a good live act after so many years. Had to stop once or twice for dickheads sitting along the fence so there was water bottles flying everywhere. There was one older sort of guy who was giving the finger to the crowd near me, so I pegged a bottle at him that had nice pace on it, hit the pole he was holding on to. About 30cm higher it would have got him right in the face but at least at that point he knew to get the fuck down. Thankfully once they stopped for about 5mins until every idiot got down they started playing again & didn't need to stop.

Lupe is a good live act but got sick of the whole "yeah yeah yeah" thing going on all the time. Agreed about the stage setups, Prodigy main stage would have been no problems at all, what I heard yesterday Neil Young was a promoter or organiser or something along those lines which is why he played main stage...

Was fucking hot as expected, only got a bit of sunburn & that was on my chest so it was good for me, but just too many karnts going lobster in the sun, especially singlet outlines everywhere.

As for the drugs thing, I was having fun being practically sober all day pointing out the people gurning off their chops. There were a LOT of people there (in the thousands) pilling HARD. When less than 0.1% of those people die theres an outrage.

Drinking while it dehydrates you, if you keep pouring booze into yourself, theres uaually a fair bit of water going in with it, so you reduce the risk a little, it still fucks you up but not as bad as a pill..

pill on the other hand, even one on a day like yesterday is a potentially fatal idea, as your bodies temp receptors don't pick up on heat changes in the body anywhere as good as normal, and by the time you add scorching sun, a lack of water, and dancing around like a muppet, you really put yourself in risk of cooking like this, 3 pills yesterday, at once, is like standing with your back to an oncomming train you know is comming you just don't when..

Ive normally seen this at festivals where people forget to trek outside for a breather and cool down while dancing, and just dance for a few hours then suddenly hit the deck, ive seen a few people on ocasions looking like they're about to go, promptly stop them and tell them its in there best interest to go outside and sit it out for half an hour, or they'll be in an ambo before then

if she was that worried, she should have jammed the baggy in the clam, dogs wouldn't get them, she'd be alive, and we wouldn't be talking about it...

unfortunately inexperience kills, and yes its a tragedy, but hopefully some good of it comes in the form of education about the risks of munching so much so fast..

End of the night in the drinking area near Boiler room everyone deceided to jump on Tents roofs / building roofs / sea containers it was insane it was like watching those shows on FOX8 where huge crowds make things collapse i was waiting fingers crossed to see some carnage but nothing :( one of the jumpers off the container was trying to avoid secuirty and came running right at our group so i threw an elbow at him as he ran past just missing his face but copped him on the shoulder hard enough to rock him off balance and then be tackled by 5 indians ...

also took at least 20 mins to find a security guard that spoke english and could direct us to the nearest EXIT ... one of them pointed to a fucking wall ... seriously a building wall i was like DUDE EXIT ... E X I T ... GO HOME ... ME WALK OUT .... he was putting hands up int he air had no idea what i was on about.

all in all killer day caught up with the local crowd Paul TJ Brett an Joliene ... then ended the night walking through claremont trashed askin a homless man playing the harmonica if he knew any jimmy barnes ... his answer " ive never met any of them " hahahaha i was in tears !!!!

Happened at Kosheen a few years back also, but that was when the Boiler room was in one of the pavilions. This is the first time I've heard of it being locked out in its current location.

I think its ridiculous how people are blaming the sniffer dogs for her death, saying she panicked when she seen them and swallowed the 3 pills she had on her. A news website was saying that sniffer dogs cause this panic and that they were to blame, and that they shouldn't be used.. Get fucked IMO. I find being within 4-5 deep from the front good, the crowd controllers will spray you with water and hand out water/refil your bottle if you ask (just remember not to drink too much otherwise you will need to go for a piss break).
