Having troubles with my clutch atm. Occured after dropping 2nd.

Went to put it into first, and well it wouldnt go in at all. But the car slowly moved forward as if i was riding the clutch, but the clutch was still pushed in to the floor. Tried getting it into second and same deal. Turned the car off and can go through the gears fine, so i started the car in 1st with clutch in. As engine cranks over car moves forward as if starting in gear, bit of revs and it eventually starts and can drive off. When driving either wont go in gear at all (large amount of force), or will eventually go in after much persuasion. Other gears are easier then others. ie, 4th to 5th no worries. 5th to 4th is like changing gears without using clutch (grinding). But fifth to 3rd goes in with relative ease (not as easy as nromal though). also the slower the car is moving the easier it appears to go into gear.

Im hoping someone relatively near by would be able to drop my box and check to see what the problem is ie, has clutch plate fused to pressure plate or something. Money and time is an issue. Powercruise in 2 weeks. Obviously not requesting this to be done for free. But i dont want to be dropping coin into a new clutch if its not necessary atm.

*looks at brettJ* haha.

any help would be massively appreciated.

cheers,

Jared

hey man , im having that same problem with my patrol , i gotta turn the car off and start in 1st and it is very hard to get into gear unless i rev the car a little , im gonna take it to the mechanics this weeks but my mate recons its the slave master cylinder , so when i put my foot on the clutch the clutch isnt all the way off its only half way or so.

hey guys, ive just been through your process of narrowing down the problem, although mine happened over a few days. it is probably your thrust bearing on its way out. bad news is the gearbox has to come out to change it. im by no means a mechanic or have a lot of mechanical knowledge but your symptoms are 100% the same as mine. hope this leads you in the right direction.

Check all hydraulics first skitzo! Usually its a slave or master. If they work a-ok THEN start pulling box's

Clutch plate is melted to Flywheel. Also have a broken pivot fork?.

So where can i get a decent clutch at reasonable price? Thinking 5 puck ceramic with 3200lb pressure plate.

Ive heard ross has shut up shop?

They would have been my first choice, they built my custom clutch in my red car atm.

Failing that, CBA in malaga

Coventry's i dont really like, better to go to a place you can discuss what you want out of the clutch.

Xtreem do them direct?
