I finally bit the bullet to sell it then i see this trailer and it makes me want to keep her.

Looks like an awesome film... dont think the mrs will agree though if it inspires me to keep my car LOL

lots of power and oldskool suspension = yeah!

the trailer looks the goods and I like it how he has some other famous names in it...I wonder what else clarkson has to say :D

And what's with the surprise about Dr Phil?

There is nothing wrong with that, obviously you all know he is a psychiatrist....obviously he is commenting on the mentality of "motoring enthusiasts" :hammer:

Perhaps he will answer some questions for the average joe who doesn't understand why people like to maintain their cars to such a hardcore extent....which sounds good to me :wiggle:

Although I was thinking more along the lines of my mum :D

She's doesn't like old cars, especially VLs and gets angry when told it's still not done and that "it's going to cost more money"

I'm pretty sure he is a car nut. Remember seeing a show about him and saying how much he loves Nascar.

when i first watched this preview last year i didnt really think much of it...watching it again, would be a perfect way to explain to people why i spend so much time and money on my car (which ive been asked alot lately by girlfriends and the old lady mainly!)

build it build it build it, drive that thing into the ground, crash it...fix it, start again..is good fun :)

Saw it last night, absolutely loved it.

There is only one critic that I have about the production, and that is that there is a little too much music in some of the driving scene. There is one in particular which comes to mind (don't stress, it's not a spoiler)...

There is a scene with a guy called Daryl who has an XB Couple aswell, his is painted black with yellow and red "graphics", then there is a cut with Dr Phil and after that is a driving scene - the music in this scene is far too loud, you can't hear the car much and ya can't hear the navigator... bit of a shame, would have been nice to hear the car!

Other than that, great movie, thourghouly enjoyed it!

Saw it last night, is well put together and worth watching. Is amazing how you get attached to the car just by watching it, it is a character in the movie.
Agree with Mistikal, in one scene the music is loud over the top of commentary, would have been better to start the music loud and fade it away.

Yeah, but, making the movie earned him more than enough money to pay for the rebuild - so it was a good decision in a way.

Glad it's getting back on the road :)

I think the next step for him is to graft in some IRS suspension from the latest Falcon.. and maybe a Coyote V8.

Full retro-tech conversion.

Dont recall the specifics but as long as it uses the original mounting points it should be ok. Also it is still a live rear in that pic, just a somewhat elaborate 1.

Pics of leaf springs dont seem to be loading? They will probably let him run in the invitational class like the let the zonda a few years ago and the merc last year with the chev v8 in it.

*shrugs* doesn't need leaf springs to still be a live rear. I'm not a cams/aasa technical officer just going off previous years when cars have been disqualified due to modifications on the rear ends.

Agreed but I am guessing (given my XR6T ute still had them) that is what it came with originally?

There is a massive chasm between the CAMS rules and AASA and I have not had a good look at the classic rules for AASA but no way that car would pass CAMS rules.

Having said that it will not be an issue so long as he finishes no better than 4th in class.

Pre event scrutiny is usually for safety only and post event is for eligibility.
