Water Corp Employees. How will you Vote? [Archive]

I just got an email detailing that all Unions have signed the Enterprise Agreement. Its now up to us, the employees to vote. Just curious as to what you guys think about it all, as i know there is a few of us on here.

I my self am a salary employee so i cop a raw deal. Wage employees seem to have a reasonable pay rise though.

Well im part of the alliance contract with Thiess so their new agreement doesnt affect me.

We are currently negotiating our new pay deal.. the unions have 100% backing from me if they get the numbers they are asking!

Im at Shenton.

Wages was something like 26.6% increase over 3 years. Salary was somethign shit like 8% over 3 years. Also Wages get backpay from april 1st. Whereas salary people get the increase from the day it starts. Fucking bullshit.

I work for Westernpower on wages and we are getting a pretty good pay rise,(dont know the full details yet cause iv been off with a broken ankle)
As always Salary staff got screwed big time, even talk about some of the salary staff begging to go back on wages.

salary of 50k

work 37 hours get 50k, work 60 hours, get 50k

wages 30 an hour (assumes no ot etc etc)

work 37 hours then (37*30) work 60 hours (60*30)

Unions cost industry and retail pricing many millions of dollars each and every year.

Selfish I know, but our next agreement dictates alot of how shit will go for me, so Im all for them to screw every dollar they can for us.

my dad is a project manager at water corp and he wont be voting for it.

i remember they had 2 strikes

1st was about 150 people

2nd was about 40 or 50.........out of 2000+......pretty poor effort.

most people fed up with it have gone to other work, and most of the grads that got a pay increase stayed.

at the end of the day they are privatising the water corp, so they dont care.

guys at balcatta depo are actually employed to swan water, which is contracted to the water corp, so i'm pretty sure they're doing their own pay negotiations atm, would be seperate to actual water corp employee's i'd think
