hey guys just bought the car and wanna know how big can you go on a new fmic for the toyota/lexus soarer/sc400 and would it work with the stock/factory twin turbos?
also i was wondering are the supras the same as like the soarers in part wise?do the 2j engine parts fit the 1j??
what are the stock turbos run at in psi? and what is the max for the stock turbos before they pop?
what are the measurements for the turbo and can i buy a wastegate and just put it on stock turbos?
can you put aftermarket blow off valves on the car aswell with stock turbos?if so how?
what would i have to do to fit the intercooler in if it works well. and would i have to change anything else in the car for the turbos??
sorry for stupid questions i dont really know much about the toyta motors so just finding a few things out :)

1. Front mounts are common on soarers, I had a 600x300x75 on mine, worked fine with the twin setup. You can basically go as big as you want.
2. Supras/Soarers, not same. Most 2JZ parts will not fit the 1JZ, but I'm not really sure which parts specifically you're talking about.
3. Stock boost on a stock soarer is about 8psi. Exhaust, FMIC, Dumps, 12psi will be the norm.
I wouldn't run them higher than 14psi, but really they can fail at any boost (and probably will).
4. No, why would you do that?
5. Yes of course, just block the stock BOV off and weld a new BOV onto the intake piping.
6. Nothing, no.

ok thank you with the intercooler do the inlets holes on the side matter were they are on the intercooler? or do they both have to be at the bottom or top?

1. just buy a kit and fit it up. may need minor trimming of the plastic shit behind the bumper. suffers from heatsoak after a good thrash -> the ecu retards the timing = no power
2. 1jz/2jz heads different
i.e. 2jz turbo kit wont bolt up to 1jz and vice versa
3. 1bar is around the "safe limit" but some people have run them higher than this with no problems. others have had them fail on stock boost.
4. = facepalm
5. most of the big jap brands make bolt on kits. can adapt a aus/usa made bov with ease though with an adaptor pipe welded on or plumbed in
6. may need some trimming depending on the kit

Do you know what a wastegate is?
Your stock turbos have internal wastegates. There is NO point welding them up and welding an external gate onto the manifolds.
As for the intercooler, mine had both inlets at the bottom, but either way you'll have to get pipes to suit, so it should be fine either way.

cooler kits ussually mount them with inlet outlet on the bottom
putting an external gate on the stock twins would be a nightmare not to mention a waste of time.
i suggest researching what a waste gate does and differences between internal/external and also what a intercooler does.
also sc400 = 4l V8 non turbo

www.soarercentral.com < that site will tell you nearly everything you want just do a search. Its mostly about the V8's but there is still plenty info on the 1jzgte soarer.

Brakes, suspension, transmission, diffs are basically the same or interchangable, however there are a few exceptions so as has already been said *check soarercentral/toymods etc first*

nah man i didnt i got this car from wangara from countdown autos car just came bak from workshop and it has no go both turbos are making loud loud loud noises and drove from wangagra to ballajura and used 1/4 off a tank and i didnt even boot it once just drove nicely
the reason for the car being in workshop was the car you start it and it dose the system check says system check ended and then you select reverse gear and the car stalls and dose it about 10000000000000 times then will run fine now today they have had the car for 3 and a half weeks change some electronic device in the car and said it was fixed pick the car up and the car dose the same thing but this time the windows seats stereo power antena mirrors turbo timer dont work after 3 hours off waiting they fix windows turbo timer (but when car turns off it dont run for 10 secs) stereo is fixed power antenna is fixed and seats are fixed
and they wanted 820 dollars for the work they have done when they still havent fixed the car if anything they have made it worse
and i got a question when u accelerate the turbos start a really high pitched noise and get louder and louder and louder could that mean there is a pipe come off or dose that mean there is a blowen turbo i noticed when the car was sitting still running for about 1 hour there was no smoke but when he push his hand on the accelerator and the turbos wound up there was big puffs off black smoke what dose this mean ?
he said the car is running to lean thats why we have that smoke? i dont think its true but what do u guys think ??

Soarers with electrical issues are headfucks. I doubt you'll ever get that thing running properly.

either one of both of the turbos are dead im guessing
high pitch squeal usually indicates flogged out bearings

car went to hyperdrive and ovaboost yesterday turbos are blowen car is bak in workshop getting 2 new turbos and electrical problem has being fixed found out it was just a fuse and i found that yesterday morning and the car dealer is paying for turbos to be fixed and installed so car should be bak in 1 week or something

we got 13 g bak becoz the dealer said he will do a clean swap for wat we paid for the car and yeh the vs did get checked and it is my parents car but i have being driving it since due to me at the time having no money for fuel and i had no car but me having a car now i have no money for fuel so i dont drive it unless i have some money saved and the deal also said the turbos got fixed and they ran fine but the electrics are still shit and said it is turning into a nightmare for him

For the record if any other Soarer owners see this and need work done to their car there is a mechanic called Joe in Wangara who is very good with them and very trusted by the Soarer community. 0408 935 700.
Just don't waste your time with random workshops such as the first example here.
