Bliss n eso have single handedly got me into hip hop both aussie and international. One of my favourite artists of 2008.

That used to be my position, but the material coming out for the last few years from local hip hop artists has evolved to a point where its quality rivals some of the best in the business.
If your a fan of Sage Francis or Atmosphere, Bliss n Eso is a definite listen.

Sorry, but whatever happened to listening to music because it's good music?
I couldn't give two shits where Bliss n Eso are from, Flying Colours is one of the best albums I've heard.
I was about to post this up in the "what are you currently listening to" thread, because I just spent 8 hours on a plane and cranked Day of the Dog, and Flying Colours the whole way, and am seriously surprised how good these boys are.
I'm sure I wont change your mind, as you'll probably only listen to someone if they're black and from compton, but for anyone else who actually likes music, its a must listen.
Woodstock 2008
Eye of the Storm
Bullet and a Target
Happy in my Hoody
Sea is Rising
Climb These Cliffs
At Midnight
Field of Dreams
ALL quality tracks off the 1 album.
Awesome effort.

I agree with Brockas, shouldnt matter who or where people are from, if they make good tunes then who gives a toss.
Posted a thread when the album first came out because i was that impressed with it after listening to it at work, they are damn talented and their lyrics in my opinion sh!t on half the crap coming out of America.
Check out Pigs in the Porn Trough, funny as hell.

listening to those people that say stuff like "aussie hip hop is not really hip hop" and "the aussie accent sounds shit" makes me realise how Americanised Australia is, and how much our culture is ignored etc...etc... wont bore you with an essay.
Just open your eyes people, we live in Australia - the accent we hear in day to day lives is perfectly fine to be sung with! Get some culture in ya!

Culture? Since when did hip hop originate in Australia? Hip Hop has fuckall to do with Australian Culture and sounds fucking stupid because of it.

Thats what I'm doing? I've got Bliss n Eso on right now and I'm loving it.
I'm saying, you're a muppet, because you're so determined to bag australian hip hop, when it has quite a large following in this country. If you don't like it, good on ya, but don't tell everyone else they don't know what they're talking about because in your opinion it's shit music.
No doubt I'd like some of the stuff you listen to, and I'd hate a lot of it.
Neither of us is "right", music taste is simply an opinion.
Grow up and get over it, people have different music tastes, get used to it.

Mark, if you like we can start a thread about AC-DC so you have something to relate to.
If you know nothing about Australian Hip Hop, and hate it, probably not much point giving your opinion in an Aussie Hip Hop band's thread.

To be honest I'd be worried if someone of your age listened to the same music I did.
