Hello all,

Motul Chrono 300V. Has anyone used this oil before and what were your impressions? I have read a lot of stories about this oil being incredibly good where people have actually noticed a difference in engine performance.

I usually run Penrite in my engine, RB25 of course. Anyone had any first hand experience with this engine oil? its expensive so dont want to purchase and regret.

Cheers

Matt

A lot of the guys on SAU rave about it, but I noticed a difference, but oil was changed over at 100K service(from a different oil), so there might have been other factors that made the car feel 'better'

best engine oil Imo would be royal purple, there was a review comparing a majority of engine oils on the market with the friction differences with the different oils and royal purple showed a 1/3 of the wear. Just try to stay away from racing oils with street use as there designed for maximum protection on shorter runs and then the protective properties die off... ie oil changes are done every race.

+1 for the royal purple, but I know heaps of people that swear by the motul. One bloke I know over east, sends a sample of his engine oil off for analysis every time he changes his oil (he swapped from penrite to motul) and he reckons that the samples came back showing a hell of a lot less wear.

Motul Chrono 300V is great, just make sure the grade is correct for your engine and you can't go wrong.

Pricey though!
