wastegate stuck open.. i think

since getting the rx7 back from teh build, when it came on boost once the gate made this weird noise, and now it runs open boost.

any suggestions on how to get it to unstick? possibly the diaphragm inside is caput.

Have you got the wastegate/boost controller vac lines on correctly?

open boost = ?

Stuck open = no/little boost- dead spring, seized shaft ?
Stuck closed = overboosting- could be stuffed diaphragm

what brand is it??? Ive seen Turbosmart 48mm gates that have bent the valve so they dont close.

its a greddy trust job. genuine not china.

Problem is it will probably have to be taken off to get fixed, and theres no bandaid as far as i know.. im looking for a wynns start ya bastard fix!

spray up the gate pipe with crc, might help :)

id rip it off asap and see whats wrong
could be something simple like a faulty air line

eitherway would def check it out or risk killing a motor
