WAGYU beef - APRIL delivery

Hi there fellow carnivores!

It's that time of the month again, delivery will happen on Thursday 23rd April. I need the orders in by this Sunday, or Monday morning at the very latest. Sorry about late notice, I only just found out.

There has been some minor changes to the pricing structure, which I am yet to find out, but apparently you will also be able to get MBS 8/9, which is slightly better than the 7/9 I've delivered before. I'll post those as soon as I know.

Righto, they've changed a few things since last time, so here is the new pricelist:

MBS 3/4
Porterhouse $40 a kilo
Scotch Fillet $40 a kilo
Rump $25 a kilo

MBS 5
Porterhouse $50 a kilo
Scotch Fillet $50 a kilo

MBS 6
Porterhouse $60 a kilo
Scotch Fillet $60 a kilo
Rump $30 a kilo
Tenderloin $70 a kilo

MBS 7
Porterhouse $70 a kilo
Scotch Fillet $75 a kilo
Rump $32 a kilo
Tenderloin $80 a kilo

MBS 8/9
Porterhouse $80 a kilo
Scotch Fillet $85 a kilo
Rump $32 a kilo
Tenderloin $95 a kilo

Weights will be the same as usual. So Porterhouse will be around 3 kilos, Scotch will be around 4.5 kilos, Tenderloin will be about 2.5 kilos, and the Rump will be roughly 6 kilos.

Hows the rump cuts (6kg!!) ? Not planning on ordering it, but seems to be the new thing on the menu and doesnt change with grade much, so curious?

Rump is the least desirable cut, though it ain't too bad. It isn't as good as the other cuts, hence why it is so cheap comparing to the rest. It will still taste better than the crappy scotch or porterhouse from Woolies though. Given it's so huge and relatively cheap, it comes in handy for big group barbeques and stuff. Roasts, stir frys, and other stuff come out awesome out of it as well.

It's always been available, but only in 3/4, I just never bothered to put it up till now haha

Just to clarify to those who are buying for the first time. I pick up the meat about 5ish on thursday, so till then, I will not know the exact weight of each cut. Once I pick it up and find out the weight, I will SMS each one of you with the exact price. I'm normally able to deliver almost everywhere, if most people live near each other. Once I collect all orders and see which locations I need to get to, I will know for sure. If you live somewhere in Two Rocks or something for example, then probably can't haha. Will have to meet you somewhere in the middle. But will know for sure once all orders are in :)

Aight. Got a response from the farm manager:

The Rump muscle group can’t really be compared with the Scotch Fillet or Porterhouse, the Rump generally tends to be a little less tender that the other cuts but most often has more flavour and if you combine this with the extra marbling it is a very good piece of meat.

I smashed a 8/9 Scotch Fillet last night after delivery... Salt & Pepper, stabbed the fat vigerously, high heat for 2.5mins per side & it was farking delicious!!

Haha, probably not :) We don't publicaly advertise this stuff at all... 99% is exported to Japan and Korea, where this stuff sells for up to 600 bucks a kilo (I was like WTF, when I first heard that). Only local sales we make are to the wholesalers, who sell it to the top Perth restaurants; and of course handful of lucky individuals ;) The price you guys are buying it for is about 20 bucks a kilo below wholesale too, and without the need to buy in bulk :beer:

Yeah like i said @ the pub last week, some smartarse miners decided to steal a heap of meat so they were hesitant, i got onto her shortly after starting here and wondering why the meat wasn't been offered to site (I's on the Perth email list)

She enquired and they have done a couple of deliveries since but each time we've had to request it.

They did however stuffup part of the last order and people got charged $100 for a couple of roasts n shit.

Worse comes to worse i'll order through the Perth order and just drive up on a Friday earlier haha.
