Someone correct me if im wrong but a minispool will only make you break more components if everything else is old. A minispool is illegal firstly but so are most mods.
It locks the two driveshafts together putting alot of strain on everything. So your axels and diff components will eb put under more pressure. You would better off getting a built diff with a tight lsd or atleast get some strengthend components int here before spool. It is a very cheap option.

Its Chris Mills performance, and yes having a mini spool will mean u will start 2 break more diffs, not 2 mention they r illegal to have but r cheap, ur best 2 spend abit more money on getting a proper locker from them like a detroit locker, works the same as a minispool but is not illegal 2 have
Order a couple of spare axles with the minispool because you are going to need them. Common problem with the minispool or any locked diff is bent and broken axles.
As mentioned above the best option is to fork out for a quality LSD.
How much power are you putting out?

i was able to pick up a mini spool on ebay a while ago for $120... didnt have any problems... but then again removed it a couple of months later coz it was so annoying to drive normally

Around 300 my good man. Possibly looking at a 2nd hand kaaz or cusco for around 800. Swapping it over with my stocker wouldn't be much hassle?

i wouldnt put a spool in a soarer. those things are heavy and that much weight with a locker would destroy bushes, axles and everything else back there..but yeh 2 way would be the best bet.

Friend of mine has a 'LOKKA' in his car. When given power, it's locked, but when being driven docile around a corner, it unlocks.
I'm not sure if there is one available for the diff in yours, but it's probably worth checking out. A simple Google search of "Lokka" gives up a few results.

Had my minispool in for a good while now, driving on 550,000km axles, going fine. Daily driver. Lunched the first diff because I installed it badly, got a rebuilt one now with stock gearing and minispooled.. I love it.

Not really ideal for city driving, but good for skids and fun.

Ok. So im looking at a kaaz 2way ratio of 4.08
Standard soarers a02a is like 4.09 I think?so no top speed sacrafice I believe? Clarify for me
Plus any recomendations as to who to get such a monster fitted. Don't like the idea of staining axle with 1500kgs of boat.

you shouldnt have any issues with it.
the main problem will be wear n tear due to you being more tempted to give it herbs all the time lol.
but it really does kill your turning circle and may put more pressure on the power steering pump / cause a leak or excessive noise or something that has happened in those cars before..
well worth it though :p

I have one of these. Cost me $460 in a group buy.
Pro's : drifts, skids, two wheel spinnage 100% of the time, piss easy to install.
Con's: Loud ticking noise when unlocking, lots of backlash makes the car pigroot everywhere (even worse in a manual)

1500kg's is fuck all. Spool goes alrite in my 1700kg whale. Fuck the axles, expendable item IMO.

Straight line commos love it. What exactly will you break? Been running a spool for a while now, best for fwy powerskids. In saying that, now fails HARD at corners, and turning circle, understeers like a dog, but is fucking mint for drags and always hooking up 2 wheels on slicks with decent power.
whay about strain on the gear box...any issues there Haven't had any issues with the box, in relation to spool in mine so far, only damage has come from flat shifting and big launches...whoops.

I dont find the spool overly painfull for normal street driving. it takes a bit of getting used to, but you can learn how to drive it fairly smoothly around town and stuff.
Only places i find it a pain are in tight carparks, as you cant just roll around the corner smoothly, but often have to stop and start while turning, which is where it can become noticable.
They are completely illegal in a road car though, which is a good sign to get a decent LSD instead, but for the money, a spool is basically idestructable, does what its intended to do, and not overly hard to install....
In terms of wearing stuff out, yes a spool will. Rear bushes, wheel studs, tyres etc will all be Vanrable to extra strain, and need to be checked reguarly. Best idea IMO is to replace most of the rear bushes when putting the diff in. This way they are atleast in good condition to start with, so they have a fighting chance against the spool. Tyre wear is pretty much un-avoidable, if one wheel is skipping when you turn a corner, then its going to wear, its just something you have to deal with. And also remember to check your wheel studs and nuts reguarly. The extra forces on the wheel can cause the studs to break, or wheel nuts to come loose (not an often occurance but it can happen).

duno what those LOKKA's are like in high hp situations but in 4wds they explode

From what i have heard, "Lokka"'s can be very scary on the track. As they are a simple lock/unlock diff, if your half way around the corner without acceleration, they are unlocked, but as soon as you give it a bit they lock up, which can send the back end around itself in an instant. Same principle applies for trying to enter a corner under mid deceleration. If it locks as your exiting it can induce under steer.
A few people i have spoken to with them fitted, some say they are great (especially considering they can be had for under $600 installed) and others say they are just a pain.
Haven't had any problems like that with mine 'Bunno R31' and I have done a fair bit of track work with the setup, although the car is very tail happy and easy to oversteer, you just have to be on the ball.
Dunno how they 'explode' in 4wd's.... ?? I know of at least 10 cars with over 300rwhp through them with no such problems.

Minispools are permanently locked whether on accel or decel, they physically connect both axles basically making them one complete axle.
In a daily driver they are a pain as they make the car a pig to drive at low speed and parking etc and you can snap axles due to them being under such high load when cornering. The outside wheel wants to turn faster than the inside but it cant due to being locked so it skips around and eventually the axle will twist and possibly snap clean through.
I wouldnt have one in a daily again after having owned a car with one, a weekend car it wouldnt be so bad.

a wheel comes up going over rocks on full piss and slams back down, same way axles get broken

So whats the difference between a mni spool and a full spool then?

The mini-spool replaces the spider gears in your stock carrier. The full spool replaces the whole carrier
