guys, just wandering, does anyone actually sleep with their keys? like under their pillow etc. or are ppl just leaving them around the house?
just seems like in every case almost, the theives just helped themselves to the keys literally once they were in the house....
then theres the other arguement of better then being woken up at knife point for keys... o.O sigh...

if you dont have insurance dont let the cops take the car, you will be stung with towing and storage fees.
be nice to get all the forensic shit off car but its only going to cost you more $$$ for slim to no chance of getting any money back even if they catch who did it

Sorry for your loss mate.
This is like fifth car stolen in 3 week.
i used to do alarm instalation into the cars and have alarm system in my car that only the owner of the car can start and keep it running with out of the car shuting down.its made by autowatch and it has anti hijack option which will shut the car down in 45 sec from starting the car unless you press that anti hijack button which is hidden in the car around the drivers seat.also an keypad immobilaser can be put in the car.this is the system that i have in my car and had it for 4 years and im very happy with it.
what im tring to say is that this might be the option to stop our cars from being stolen.
if there is any one interested in this alarm system i still might be able to get it and instole it, just have to ring the supplier.from memory i think that the alarm system was around $400 instoled with anti hijack button.

Sorry to hear this is happening all to often lately ive resorted to separating my car keys from the immobilizer and removing the fuel pump relay it only takes two seconds. So if the wankers get my keys the alarm goes off when they use the keys to open the door.
Hopefully all works out

That's what I was thinking - 3rd Party Fire & Theft, check to see if it was elected on your policy.

Correct, Just car would only cover my Evo7 up to 12k max if stolen and damaged beyond repair. Here's hoping you actually had fire and theft man and not just normal 3rd party coverage.

Damn that sucks dude :(
This is the reason why i keep my car in the locked shed with the keys hidden away somewhere in my room.
Wasn't there a report on the news like last week about a 'gang' of people running around stealing high-performance cars? I'd seriously suggest keeping all doors locked and keys under your pillow from now on, since i don't think theyve been caught.
Is the car fixable? any pics?

Oh crap, bad luck :(
Speaking of where to put your keys... electronic safes are cheap these days. You can get little ones that will do the job for under 100 bucks from officeworks. Bolt them down somewhere out of sight, wardrobe perhaps, or laundry, pantry, anywhere. Will be good for hiding extra things like wallets, passports and any other stuff as well...

Nah, leave the keys on a hook in the kitchen, leave the immobiliser in your room.
You'll get a nice warning car of your alarm that someones going nowhere with your car, instead of getting your(or loved ones) head kicked in by thieves.
