car is making a weird "wooo" sound so i thort it might have been sumthing to do with the turbo... took the filter off had a look at it and theres a chunk missing? seems to b spooling okay hittin full boost like normal. When i turn the car off i can hear a kinda scraping sound coming from the turbo as its winding down.. could it b the bearings?

Isn't that chunk a bit they have removed to balance the turbo?

If you hear a scraping sound while its winding down that sounds like a bearing to me. Can you move the wheel left/right or forward/backwards excessively? Does it touch the sides of the housing if it moves enough?

nah mate, it spins pretty freely... theres no problem with boost either theres just a weird sound when i drive it some people on sau rekon it could also be the pulleys, condensers, pumps and etc spooling up. Whats a new bearing cartridge guna set me back?

any idea on the "woooooooooooow" sound? think the bearings in the turbo are on the way out but i dont think that really explains the sound im hearing?

after looking at the car a little more i dont think its actualy comin from the turbo, it seems to b going up and down with the revs so leaning towards the fan.. apart from bearing noises the turbo is working fine

Stock viscous fan? Clutch might be dying. Try sticking a rolled up newspaper into it with car running, if you can stop the fan easily the clutch is dying/dead.

you do know how a viscous fan works right lol?

they are ment to stop when cold still spin but not in full drive so to speak. once warmed they are engaged because of the inner compound the fan clutch is made of.
