hey guys

need a wrx experts advice on this one please :)

my mate has just bought a 1999 wrx with minor mods.

he is after a apexi fc but im having trouble sourcing one for the 99 model.

or are they all the same?? can i use any ej20 apexi fc??

3 different models of Power FC for WRXs.

1. 94-96
2. 97-98
3. 99-00

You want the one with Product Code: 414-AF003 to suit 99-00 WRX/STI. It will say it's for an EJ207 (STI motor) but to get it working on a WRX you need 2 pins to be swapped over, which any tuner/workshop should be able to do for you when it gets installed and tuned. Also, not sure if you are aware, but the Air Flow Meter (AFM) on this model of Subaru is a POS and can self destruct for little reason what-so-ever but especially when an oiled filter is used. Best to use dry factory paper spec ones for longetivity. Or you can swap in an AFM from a Nissan 300ZX for about $300 new from Coventry's which is heaps tougher and also has a larger cross sectional area. Again, your tuner/workshop can do the work required to get it installed and talking correctly to the Power FC.

But first you gotta find one and that's the hard part. Try www.nengun.com, www.perfectrun.com and then any other online vendors you know of and see if anything pops up. Good luck :)
