Bit curious what I can do with used oil, where can I take it? I've heard you can take it to the rubbish tip and they will do whatever they do with it. Other then that anyway to correctly dispose of it/palm it off to someone?

Cheers,

Terry.

i used to give it my local servo, havent done it foir a few years & ive got quite a backlog now so i called up to see if they still take it.
they do but now they charge (i think it was) $1 a litre.
maybe your local servo still takes it for free?

Put it back into the old oil containers, then put it next to ya bin on recycling day, same can be done with old car batteries. Pretty sure most shire's do it like this. The garbo man should get out of his truck and put it in a seperate area. If not I put it on the rubbish bin lid. must piss em off lol

Other then the obvious dumping at leach you can put it out the front like said above, all shires should pick it up if it is correctly placed.

Also ALL tips will have a special area for oil also. Think they charge up in Perth though, down here the tip is free for unlimited uses.

The canning vale tip has free oil disposal. Just pull up out the front and tip the oil into a big tank.

If you know anyone who's a member at a yatch club, they might have disposal facilities.

If you have, or know anyone with a diesel vehicle, you can use it with a mixture of kerosene and some methylated spirits and use it for fuel.
There's a few sites on the Net that show you how.
You can even use old cooking oil.
