Who's using it and did you notice that your oil pressure light on dash stays a wee bit longer (1sec) when you cold start than oem filter?

The filter is bigger than oem, maybe the reason as it took longer time for The oil to top through. I also found oil pressure is slighty higher and oil is much cleaner at 2000km.

Cheers

Recent thread on SAU on on this very subject, notable quote from a respected eastern states tuner

these filters filter ~10 ten times smaller particulates than ryco or oem and i have the wear check data on my built engines to back it up. We were using K&N (regarded as one of the best money can buy) but found the DRIFT bettered the filtration (particulate testing)

use oem filters and change them often.

if you have oil pressure issues you have bigger issues that need to be sorted.

Thanks.

Anyone comment on the oil pressure?

I would imagine the size of the filter would not make a difference, as long as the anti-drainback valve stops oil from flowing back and keeps the filter filled with oil, pressure light shouldn't be staying on longer on startup.

Or could it be that because of the finer media, it takes longer for the oil to get through to build up pressure once the engine begins cranking?

Thanks.

Pressure is a measure of a resistance, so technically it would mean there is less resistance in the filter, therfore dropping the oil pressure.

a smaller filter will increase resistance and increase pressure...

I cut one open and had a look inside , drainback valve isn't that crash hot I'd personally wouldn't use them. Stick to oem can never go wrong

If youve got pressure issues you need to be looking harder (ie big bearing/cam clearances)

And FFS, use a master gauge not a light, tell us what pressure you have then

My pressure gauge reads fine back then (sensor on sandwich plate) but As mentioned sometimes it reads 7psi pressure when the engine is warm and off.

But never the less, took your guys advice, switched it back to oem and voila light shuts immidiately. Oil gets brown earlier though but it shouldnt matter.
