Universal Pictures is hitting the accelerator on a fifth installment of "Fast and Furious," currently being referred to as "Fast Five."
Studio has closed deals with Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, director Justin Lin and producer Neal Moritz to return to the franchise, which has become one of the studio's most lucrative.
Diesel and Walker sat out the third chapter in the series but returned for last year's fourth installment, which was the highest-grossing "Fast and Furious" film and Universal's top grosser of 2009. Its box office haul was more than $350 million worldwide.
Chris Morgan is writing "Fast Five," marking the third time he and Lin have teamed for a "Fast and Furious" film. The story finds protags Dom (Diesel) and Brian (Walker) as fugitives being pursued by relentless lawmen.
Lensing will begin later this year for a 2011 release.
Original Films' Moritz has produced every film in the series, beginning in 2001 with the "The Fast and the Furious." Diesel is also producing.
Universal's Jeff Kirschenbaum and Franklin Leonard will oversee the project for the studio.
Oh god, they get worse everytime.
Hopefully a few more gold quotes in this one.

Look forward to it.
Heard rumours after Fast & Furious 4 that the 5th one would have Letty back in it and would be in Europe or somewhere?
I hope it doesn't though, cos that would mean the order of films would be:
1-2-5-4-3 which makes no fucken sense.

Bingo.
Don't care what people think, I actually enjoyed the 1st and 4th one. The middle two were a bit over the top, but still watched.
It's entertainment. Just because it's not 100% accurate for all you street racing hardcores, doesn't make it shit.

Its true but at least i can say i wont have to pay for it if its an abomination.
Best way so you guys dont have to pay full price for it is to buy 10x adult gift vouchers and then split it that way otherwise get josh to organise another screening.

tokyo and the original were the best, the last one was disapointing
i bet those who say all the movies are shit actually enjoyed watching them and have seen them all more than once. It may not all be correct what the cars have or what the characters say but what other modern day car movie is acurate. At least Aca have not got the movie banned from viewing.
