Alright thought i'd finnaly throw the towel in on this "diagnosis" my SR20DET with vct in the 14 is having some little trauma issues

If anyone was at last weeks woop ass you probably would have seen it spit the dummy in the pit and on the track most of the night.

But when giving the car some throttle love its happy on boost through first (to prelimiter) 2nd is pretty clean most of the time but 3rd and 4th if i take it past about 4,000rpm it starts missing hard to the point the car bunnyhops isn't pleasent and im now stumped for causes...Car is running approx 0.9kpa of boost and has ran more boost cleaner so no boost spike is triggered on the car...
Heres what i've checked

-I assumed it was my plug gapping so i purchased a new set of ordinnary plugs and gapped to 0.666 on a feeler gauge....still does it
-Thought my coilplugs had shit (swapped with a known good working set) and problem still occured
-Cleaned my AFM with contact cleaner and light blow from air gun. problem still there.
-checked and cleaned pod filter, all grounds, wires and connectors.

Known issues
-Small crack in exhaust front pipe that i did a shit weld job on

Yet to properly inspect
-Ignitor
-Haven't swapped AFM with a known worker

Before i go checking every sensor sender and so on i thought i'd ask if anyone has had a similar issue on there sr ? please throw me your comments

Cheers

has got a walbro pump in it can hear it pretty clearly most days so i think thats all good, stock boost still has the issue :/

Fuel cut... possibly due to boost spiking due to the greater exhaust flow introduced by the front pipe crack which might of opened up more.

was thinking it would have something to do with sensors kicking there shit, quick test to confirm disconnect O2 sensor so it goes to auto RICH mode ??

check your fuel filter and regulator, somes times they get blocked and start to jump around

yea think ill be checking everything this weekend might invest in a new o2 sensor

Marti

it wont be the o2 sensor, start cheap, get a new fuel filter then go from there,it sounds like its fuel related seeing as coils and plugs were changed so that should be fine

yea ill have a look at the filter this weekend and start further tests and cleaning

yea man ill try replacing the fuel filter asap then if that fails ill start doing some injector checks and all sensors see how i go..

yea tryed some "Active tests" after the drags tonight through sealed safe roads, Definately not o2 sensor, won't do shit with AFM unplugged and now this problem is severly pissing me off won't drop second anymore :( think i'll test the igniter but doubtfull its that, someone with an SR must have figured this problem. can't do any major work until this weekend so ill inspect everyline connection everything.....

Have you checked the earths around the engine and fuel pump? Are you using resistor plugs as they dont like non resistor.

Today i think i have found the problem....skipped the basics (didn't check properly) Silicone joiner on cooler pipe intake pipe to intake plenum (3" i think)
had a crack on the lower side, doing fuel preasure test this arvo reved it with my hand near the joiner and it blew a shitload of air out so i suspect this is the problem...just need to get a new one asap.
