I've never had this but the local inspection place wants to measure from the ground to the centre of my headlights. Needs to be 600mm.

Has anyone heard of this technique?

Judging by this i'm going to need larger then standard springs to get it to legal

car must be 100mm or higher fully laden, height off the ground must also exceed sidewall height (ie, if you have 33's or something with a 150mm sidewall, you cant have the car lower than 150mm off the ground) and height to the headlights.

i thought it was 500mm to the bottom of the headlight, but i could be wrong.

i'm sure there is some info in the NCOP.

Ride height and headlight height 2 different things.

The lowest point of your car musn't be lower than 110mm and the headlights are 500mm or 600mm depending on your cars year of manufacture...

Well i got 110mm clearance all around easy but just measured only 590mm from headlight to ground. its a late 91 vp so it should come under the new adr rule of 500mm?

Just measured mrs's vy which is stock height and it only has 605mm... makes me wonder wtf?

Well my cef got stockades at 45 mm took to pits after winding coilovers to max and was at 96mm from ground to exhaust (s13 coils lower than cef) and i tried to talk it over with him and said it's only 4mm but the rule was def 100mm. Never ever heard of headlight measuring. Get him to show you the legislation where it says headlight to ground measurement
