Hey guys,

Quick question, Does anyone in Australia stock a half decent set of coilovers? My budget is 3000 for the coilovers but all i have found is ksport, tein super streets ect. I want them for the street and the occasional track session. So far its looking like i have to wait to ship a set over from japan..
Ive been to Wilkos and WA suspension and called a few performance joints but havent had any luck...
Anyone know of any places.

Cheers,

TJ

K-Sport seems to cop alot of bashing and same branding as D2/G4, etc
No arguement for Tein, some people say they're too soft but I can't judge)

I was suggested HSD and JIC for my Cefiro (on budget but insisted on quality before the pricetag), got HSDs but havent had a chance to use them yet. Can't remember actually finding an Australian JIC distributor.

3K budget?
Get some TEIN Monoflex via RHD Japan or Greenline.

Bit more track orientated than the super streets, but still streetable.
It's what I'm looking at getting later in the year.

ps. I love your new rims ;)

Forgot to include in my post, I got my HSDs from Otomoto, it was $1399 and shipping was $65.
Couldnt find any JIC suppliers.

3k budget you should SURELY be able to pick up a higher end brand from Nengun, Streeter, etc and still cover shipping costs ....

Alrighty guys, didnt have any real luck getting coilovers locally. So im going to order them from Japan. At the moment im throwing up between Zeal function x, Tein monoflex & HKS Hipermax 3. At the moment im leaning toward the set of Zeals but wondering what people have used and recomend.

Cheers

If you have 3k get some custom valved Bilsteins on Eibachs. A bit of work to put a kit together but they will be better than almost everything else at that price point.

The Zeals are the best of the ones you have mentioned. Also check out Aragosta if you are insistent on buying from Japan. They are rebranded AST, and AST are a very very good and highly regarded damper. Most of the Japanese stuff has way too much rebound.

Alternatively, buy AST (http://www.ast-suspension.com/comprace.asp?make=Nissan) from the US. Maybe KW (http://www.kw-suspensions.eu/int/index.php) also do something for R32 chassis?

Go here (http://www.nissanroadracing.com) for the lowdown on suspension for Nissans (mostly S chassis, but may be some stuff on the Skyline chassis).

I've got Tein Monoflex installed and although my R is mainly a tracker they are quite civilised on the street. Welcome to drop over and I'll take you for a spin to see if you like the ride (remembering that I have very little left in the way of rubber bushes, however)
