Current stock ones are shagged, and I'm looking at getting a replacement set.

Am I right in assuming that a collar fits over the bushing to make it more rigid? Or is it a replacement for the bushing?

As i'm looking at getting all of them swapped, should I be purchasing a set of bushings + collars?

What are the main merits of getting these? I imagine besides fixing the knock from the shagged ones, should it make the diff feel more alive so to speak?

Dont put new bushes in if your going to run the ally locking rings. The Ally ones take out any movement the bush would of had.

^ yep.

running the rings will make the diff feel more "alive", the car in general will feel more sensitive to bumps and response. Think of all the movement and energy the bushes normally would absorb, the chassis/car will now feel that.

If you want the car to feel newer, new rubber bushes, if you want the car to feel more responsive and sensitive, get the fixed rings.
