View Full Version : Alternative to flairing
Hi All,
Just got some rims for my Soarer, 19"x9" with 235 on front, 275 on rear. However they stick out about half to an inch! i guess its the offset, they are quite dished. Was wondering if anyone has come across something like guards (like on 4wds) that could be used as an alternative to flaring out? Any experience in this area would be appreciated.
Also what kind of money are you looking at spending for flaring out? i can see the rear being not so hard, however the front of the Soarer has that step change in the bodywork which might make it difficult or make it look bad?
Any info would be appreciated. Cheers

LOLOL Toooo good. Being a toyo brother I will help you out. Flaring guards is the way to go. Pretty cheap, 40-50 bucks a corner. Camber to get them in the last bit. Are the tyres stretched?

roll the guards, forget about flaring and slam it on its hole with 235/35 tyres. she won't rub.
^^^ this
275's on a 9 inch is a waste of rubber

still, if they are hanging an inch out of the guards, fit 235s and slam it.

"Doesn't do soarer"?
Guards are guards, I don't see why the make/model would matter...
i wouldn't do soarer either

Yea already contacted him he said he doesn't do soarers says its too hard without cracking paint. Put them on today and look mint.. but unfortunately even flaring out is not going to save the front! Back is actually very good only 5mm out, but front is major. Is anyone interested in purchasing them? I cant seem to start threads in for sale section. PM me if your interested. This link here is the actual rims for sale 4 years ago for 5 grande. Look sweet on GT-R

trust me, you WILL be able to get the fronts under the guards. you DO NOT need to flare them. get the guard lips ROLLED not FLARED at the front and rear and lower the car. also, you will need to remove the 275 tyres and fit 235s to the rear.

I bought the tyres/rims as package, no intent on changing the tyres, my mistake! And just changed the suspension back to brand new stock springs, want to keep original comfort suspension which clashes with rims like that. They are definately for sale now as I have just bought a set of 17's with brand new 235's. Open to offers for quick sale as i have no use for them now.
Tyres are Yoko's, brand new front, one on back has 70 % on the inside, 90% to brand new everywhere else. Will consider separating tyres at your cost to remove, really good tyres...
