hey
wondering if its worth going for a retune

have an Rb20det
has custom inlet manifold
GTR injectors
GT-RS turbo
Profec B
Nistune
Front mount
3inch turbo back
Walboro (i think) its loud
Pod filter

doesnt have SPlit fires
and im not to sure about if it has a Z32 afm but i would say it would.

and on 18psi it only made 280rwhp? isnt that abit low for that setup?

should make about 300rwhp... check what afm you have, but 280 seems right if its a lowish reading dyno

how do you tell if its a Z32 AFM??

yeh thats what i thought it definately doesnt feel like 300rwhp..
it doesnt come on boost hard at all and there is no traction issues what so ever which is alittle odd. my last R32 had front mount, exhuast, pod, 15psi and a 33 turbo and it was way more of a handful. and that had much the same tyres.

orange label

if it doesn't come on boost hard then i'd say its the setting of your boost controller or you have a leak somewhere (gaskets etc)

my old 180 sr20det made 330 at 18psi but had cams

alrite ill have a gander..definately an orange label?

hmm maybe the profec b is setup to drop boost in slowly. how do u go about changing that ?

cheers

ok checked definately a Z32..abit worried about touching the profec, looks complicated. but still 18psi should net better power then 280 though. it was tuned by hyperdrive and same setup with a 33hiflow nets 300rwhp in nearly all cases so why wouldnt it with a GT-RS

when did it get tunes at hyperdrive?

their dyno has been reading very low the last couple of weeks.

i made 260 on 18 but it aint 260.

do a power run on someone elses dyno before you get a retune

umm think it was quite sometime ago..
it feels like 280 though no way its 300ish and it should well be

get it retuned if your not happy with it.

yeh might have too.. 280 from the current setup and psi is pretty shit considering its not lacking fuel delivery or anything.

mite get them to have a play with the profec to work out whether its set to drop boost on slow etc.

Sounds like wastegate is creeping open, hence why it feels soft and is down on power.
Should be a relatively easy fix with a change of settings on the profec

any idea on how youd go about that ?

had a quick look online but it seems pretty complicated for someone who doesnt know where to start. anyone out there keen for a 4 pack of jacks ?

2 of my mates have SRs with very similair setups and they both make around 290-300, so personally I wouldn't be too concerned with 280 BUT if it doesn't feel like 280-300 then yeah maybe do some trouble shooting.

EDIT: also check the gain on the profec, if its set soft car will feel weak as piss :D

Drift_R32

hmm will see if i can master changing the gain..
ok Gain is set to 10%
and Set is set to 1.00 x100kpa

moved gain up to 12% and it goes near 20psi on the specometre boost guage prob about 19psi
is that right ? still feels like the boost is coming on slow as fuk.

Take it to Ovaboost

keep playing with the boost controller.
when it throws a rod you know you changed the settings the wrong way

Fuck the dyno sheet off , go to plex and see what mph it runs :)

Drift_R32

plex isnt gonna make me think any different it still feels slow for the setup.

then we can both hardpark in our garages yes mitchy ?

Hows the actuator preload? GTR'S have adjustable actuators, a few nips and it might hit harder.

noooo idea aye, brought it as is..but could help??

Yes, adjustable actuator set too soft would also create wastegate creep.

Undo the 10mm nut and make it a few turns tighter! Never know.

just take it for a retune? Dont expect much more than 300 from it anyway 20 needs a big snail to make power..

Take vacume line off actuator and take it for a quick lap, see if it pulls harder then.

otherwise whats he compression like?

Drift_R32

motor is good..doesnt breath at all..
its had a catch can on it for sometime and it had sweet fuk all oil in it.

ill give the actuator trick a try..
PAGZ..ive owned my fair shair of 20s now with different setups, with that turbo, running 18psi it should come on alot harder. ive had 20s with 33turbos running 15psi come on ten times harder.
which way do i screw the bolt to make it come on harder?
also wont this adjust my boost im running so do i need to then turn the set boost on my boost controller?

cheers

Please just take it to a workshop.

dynos are not the be all and end all, in order to compare to other cars with similar mods you would have to dyno them on the same dyno on the same day.

There can be quite the big difference between dynos .etc
