View Full Version : Cats, dogs and pigs. Mainly cats and pigs
Just curious, has anyone ever been checked on the spot to see if their car has a cat or not when they have been pulled over?
Is there any way that they can remotely check emissions now days?
I use a cat and don't plan to remove it. Just curiosity.
Ps. No disrespect to cops, the punn worked better with "pigs".

Never been checked to see if I have a cat. A smart cop might realise it when measuring your height off the deck, though.
5 gas analyser is the way they test emissions now.

Cops cant check
but cops dont care and will TELL you that you dont have a cat, how can you argue ? they are the law?
just better to let them go full retard on you and accept the long hard dick of the law

A cop with half a clue will smell it when they are following you.
They are few and far between though.

Cops can check if you have a cat in place, but they can't check if that cat is doing anything or not (bashed out).
They only need to suspect that the car does not comply with emissions (aftermarket exhaust, cams etc) to give you a yellow sticker. Then it's up to the pits to test you or not test you, by way of 5 gas.

the smell, or hollow sound when you tap the cat shell (if there is one).
they also wont tell you you dont have a cat.... they will simply give you a yellow sticker to get the pits to confirm/deny their suspicion. :)

I thought they scrapped the emissions test because it would rule out majority of pre 1990 cars with diminished cats?

I have seen road side emission testing of heavy trucks on Roe highway. Was a bunch of police and inspection centre officers running it.

I never had a feline in any of my 32's.
If I have a Turbo car I dont have a feline in the car
If I have a NA car I do have a feline in the car, I have experienced a powerloss in NA applications taking the feline out.
Cops have always peered down my dump pipe however to see if I have screamer love.. Seems to be they just check for screamers, boost controllers and loose pod filters.
