It’s that time of the year again ... I’ve been charged with organising the Staff Xmas party and I’m coming up trumps for ideas ...
What have you guys done previously ??
Previous ones of mine;
Perth Zoo – Hired out the Zoo for the night and have a live band playing there – free food n drinks
Greenwood Hotel – basic feed and drinks
Some shit Restaurant on Great Eastern highway – shithouse small food.
We are a small office only about 10 of us so plus partners will only be 20 odd people ... any ideas ?
Looking for a nice sit down meal and drinks really and want to stay NOR or City area ... can’t go SOR or Freo ( too far )
I’d prefer a Pub meals like @ The Queens ... suggestions ?

Do you always books your Christmas work do this late?
I organise my companies one and i find if i don't book it by August everything is booked out.
We have done:
*Swan River Boat Course (wine tasting, lunch & chocolate factory) By the time we got to lunch everyone was drunk
*Supagolf - Kind bad time of the year as its so hot
*Burswood Buffet - Food was good and then we went to the Casino after

For my missus' work party we're taking 3 pharmacies worth of staff on coaches to the Swan Valley for wine n shit.
For my work party we usually just have a BBQ at the laboratory itself with bulk cartons of booze but missus' dad was saying that's probably not the go this year, so probably just going to a pub/tav/restaurant somewhere. Given it's only a small laboratory (< 10 people), it does makes it a bit easier to organise things for.

Our work xmas party will be at work again. We are on the water in the canals in Mandurah so we cook up lots of steaks and seafood, get hammered on beer and wine, and we lease the boat pen right outside our work on the jetty so we usually get whoevers boat down and a jetski etc and muck around. We've got kayaks at work too so there are always kayak races :)

Hippo Creek Subi?? bit more upmarket than Hillarys, bit closer, and more options afterwards?
Little Chutneys/Chutney Marys/Buddha Bar, if indian will suit everyone?
Check if Malt (new place on Beaufort) will be open by then (it should be) and is taking bookings yet? Pretty sure they're intending on doing food, could just be tapas stuff though.

LOL!
We did Playa Del Carmen and Cancun / Mexico for a few weeks during spring break 2008. So much win.
On the contrary, I work for the Government and unfortunately get cheap BYO crap that co-staff deliver. I'm having hard enough trouble facing facts that I have to be at work for Melbourne Cup next week to have cordial with my director and managers.

Just going from what I read about it opening up - is supposed to have some special ageing room and a wood fired char-grill or something that I was under the impression the existing two didnt have - I could be wrong there.
Agreed, the Hillarys one is nice as well :)
