Got to around level 12 last night and hit a moot point where I couldn't do any more competing until I had specific vehicles but couldn't find any of the vehicles to race with. Ended up getting some 1965 escort looking thing with pursuities and blowing about 100k on it for lulz. Paints so fierce, should be a decent little drift car being so nimble.

Still getting angry with the 34R, I've setup the centre diff to (F)10:90(R) and it still pushes excessively wide into almost every corner. I'm not sure if it's just the fact the car is coming into all the corners so hot being that it has 600HP or if it's just a fat shit (have done some weight reductions) but I need to spend some time fine tuning that. I have got the 20k chassis bracing kit but can't work out how to fine tune my swaybars etc..?

Use the brake.

To change suspension settings, goto tuning and then suspension and the little dial symbol next to the suspension you have bought (if customisable).

You need to adjust spring rates, damper, Sway bars and toe to get the thing to turn. They are all a part of setting the car up!

I hope so too, but the current system seems like its using the brakes what come with the car.

Try braking with the Gallardo just a touch and you start skidding.

are you still running sport tyres on it? soft race tyres help heaps to begin with.
my 33 GTR is about 670HP, soft race tyres, 70:30 power distribution, a bit of camber up up front, and she turns in oright for a whale.
i found anything more than say 75:25 just bagged the tyres coming out of corners, hahah.

pre-race, there is the start race, options, settings, and exit menu.
in settings, under suspension you can dial in camber/toe/height, etc.

Can someone tell me why it was necessary to put in the '05 Suzuki Swift Sport and the '07 Suzuki Swift Sport (both new cars after GT4 btw) when the ONLY difference between the 2 is the '07 revs 500rpm higher???

pick the car that you want to modified
drive it in practice or wat so ever.

if it have "in car view / Dash and steering wheels" u can modify the looks of it.

other than that you can not do anything

some cars only have bumper, hood/roof and over all car view.

For all the classic challenges, I just used a Shelby Mustang GT350R modded to 460hp, that thing paints lines in 2nd with medium race tyres lol. Requires throttle control.... Probably one of the best sounding cars in game with full exhaust mods too.

Currently saving for a LeMans racer... doing B-Spec for the money (2mil), this won't take long at all >_>

B Spec, keep the driver in the centre of "cool" and "hot". The hotter he is, the more mistakes he'll be likely to make, the cooler, the more conservative he is (slow).

the classes in Forza were good for online racing. Set a limit to B class cars and you could mod whatever you want as long as it fit. Excellent races with various diff packages going at it.

No one enjoys racing in a kombi. Especially when one slight nudge from an opponent can stick you into a cone and make you have to restart, again.

Will start with some select car races until we get a few online. Then we'll try some on make races and some 500hp limit free for alls.

I personally don't think the HP limit races will be very close but I guess if we fill a grid of 16 cars then that should help.

After the racing last night degenerated into a crash fest we need some guidelines.

Give eachother racing room.
Bumps and rubbing inevitably happens. Deliberate punting and pushing eachother off the track is not acceptable.

No cutting corners across the grass/dirt.
Only applies to a couple of tracks. Use the tarmac, kerbs or any other sealed surface. Just not the dirt/grass.

If you don't want to run with the above basic guidelines then don't bother joining. There's a whole public online community you can race against and act like a pingpingpingping.

- I won't be enabling penalties because they don't always penalise the offending driver and can penalise innocent drivers. It is up to the individual to race fair.
- Laps will be set to 3 (track dependant)
- Boost is set to high (so if you have an off you can catch up with extra grip/speed)

If you have a mic get it charged up now.

Would appreciate if someone could go into more detail about how to fix the issue so we can connect to MGR's Lounge for future races. My PS3 is running wirelessly in the front room next to my TV while all of my modem/router gear is down the other end of the house.

Had a quick muck around with Kye and Mitchy til they bailed for MGR's Lounge, got stuck solo so I started up my own Lounge then a few people joined. Ended up just doing skids and fucking about in my $700,000 1970 Mustang with Daveo peeling out his 32R everywhere hahahaha.

I think I did pretty well considering I had literally just installed the game, and hadnt touched a Gran Turismo game for about 3 years.

The sheer stupidity of the no penalty smash fest was good for a laugh - look in the mirrors to see someone barreling into you was good for a giggle. I think the Monaco rally shenadigans was the final straw :P

The serious stuff was good - Nascar was fun because you had to temper the throttle of just lose it.

I've been ignoring all the car specific challenges like the mini challenge and the italian challenge etc, and just progressing to the ones I could do. Also check in your car delivery as the game has given me about 7 cars so far which are useable for more challenges (yaris challenge etc)/

As you know you make good money on the go-karts etc, but I made a massive haul last night on the intermediate level of the AMG challenge in the special events. $79,000 for gold place x a few races. Doing that as well as another few events I had missed previously took me up to just over $700k, then I dropped it all on that 1970 Mustang just to shit Mitchy off.. It's not even that good, so jokes on me I guess hahaha :D

Was really good racing as well, although the penalties were pissing me off something chronic.

You'd be having a great battle with someone, they'd outbreak themselves and slide into you, and you'd cop a ramming penalty.

Think once we get to the point where we can all trust that we're not going to punt each other off, we should do it without penalties.

get golds in the "Special Events"

i.e nascar intermediate it's something like 18k for gold, 15k for silver and 12k for bronze.

When you get gold you get the bronze, silver and gold prize money, 45k for one event. All golds in the nascar intermediate gets you about 500k.

Yeah this is still stock so doesn't have anywhere near that power haha.. It's still pretty fun to drive but, absolute pig once the tyres are hot, just will not turn a corner without looping. It also will not take off in 2nd gear, has a big rumbly cam with no low end torque so it just sits there making bad noises hahahahah

Well now I'm trying to find an old European car for the Classic Euro race in the Beginners races. Found an E-Type but couldn't afford it, as I blew money buying an old Jap car for that race.

I sold a bunch of gift cars but kept what I thought I'd need for future, and what I wanted to keep (FT-86!).

I've got a 1965 Alfa Romeo I can gift you to complete the old Euro race.. I can't remember if it was up to the task or not, but at some stage I blew 100k on it and it was an absolute animal. I never saved the game and when I loaded up yesterday it was back to stock. Happy for you to use that and just gift it back when you're done or whatever.

Navigating/tuning with the G27 can be frustratingly slow. When you turn on your PS3, pick up your hand controller, go to settings/accessories and reassign the hand controller to 1. This means you can now navigate menus easily then back to the G27 for racing.

If I wasn't using that I was using a 1970 Ford Mustang which is a SEMA car special.

But the 34s setup nice for drift! Its a shame you cant save multiple tunes. GT5 could have stolen everything from Forza3 to make the ultimate game. Huuur duuur!

But yeh it seems to be very precise about gearshift/clutch/throttle timing, offline it wasnt so bad but when youre racing online at 10/10ths trying to keep in front of someone and you misshift it really sucks balls. Didnt want to use paddles but was really getting a bit frustrated with it

General Instructions:

Assign PS3 a static IP (doesnt change)
Take note of this IP and access your Router by:

click Start > Run/Search > CMD > in the black box type IPCONFIG .

Write down the numbers listed after DEFAULT GATEWAY and chuck that into your address bar on firefox/chrome/internet explorer.

what you should be looking at is the interface for your router.. It will ask for an Admin password n shit and If you dont know that.. consult documentation.

Once in look in the menu for DMZ or Port Forwarding.

Insert PS3 Static IP.
Save settings on your router interface.
Restart Router.

Jump back on your PS3 and reset it and do an internet connection test.
If it works..you should be a tad better off getting into games.

Say Fri night, 16 people, online tournament over say 10 races towards a championship, or is it just one race at a time?

Keen for friday night championship. i dont think it can hold a championship, someone will just have to keep scores.

Having penalties was good, wierd how people stop ramming with penalties on :P i kept getting 10 sec penalties when pingpingpingpings kept ramming me into shortcut paths.

Also visited the pitlane once mid race.

Re headsets:

I didn't get the PS3 mic (which was $79 at the time) but went to officeworks
and got a $24 Nokia which works great.

You just need to make sure the bluetooth versions are the same.

HP Restrictions Drivetrain etc, Post the race up a week before hand everybody then has ample time to build there own car to suit the race.. Much more fun than 12 imprezas going around a track :/

Do you guys use the handbrake much? I hate it. It's laggy as hell so you can't just press the button to quickly rip the handbrake, you need to hold the button down for a few seconds then it just loops the car out.

Used to use it alot with the controller but its alot harder to pull off with a wheel.... same as reverse :(

In reality it wouldn't take a week to build a car, you buy up large with all the good bits then spend a few hours tuning it perfectly - which will vary depending on track anyway so it's still a bit hit and miss.

I would much prefer to win a race in a bombed car racing bombed cars than in a slow bunky without mods that is full of understeer and boot legger corner exits :D

But I would prefer to just win a race in general.....

As long as the car is not a pig to drive (Maserati? ;) it makes for good close racing, not really fussed how much hp it has

Handbrake seems pretty accurate to me. Couple of quick taps will destabilise the rear.

Think about it in real life, if you yanked the handbrake on for a decent amount of time, wouldn't take long before you're eating your own ass while wrapped around a tree.

If it takes you more than a couple of hours to get enough money to pimp out a car you are doing it WRONG! Mazda MX5 with power and the stickiest tyres will go fairly okay and can compete around 450HP. Good for getting to the hair salon quickly if you are running late for work.

I thought the Maserati was shit btw. Did not enjoy driving it at all, which is why I sold it.

I agree completely with the last bit. What is frustrating is that a quick tap or two does nothing to unsettle the car, it barely kicks revs or registers on the PS3, so then I hold it down til I hear the revs bang limiter and all of a sudden I'm way too sideways and trying to recover from the angle before I can setup the corner. Struggling to find a happy medium.
