Transperth train derailed @ mandurah

Was on train today as my car was smashed on the fwy this morning (FML) and on the way home there was on the PA that train terminating @ Rocko and bus to Mandurah

got of @ wellard and spoke to the bus driver outside who said Train Derailed 100metres from mandurah traino.
heard over his radio also that 2 Bogies are off track == call for 500tonner crane to pick it up and put back on tracks.

great job just before peak hour traffic :P

Mandurah Line - service disruptions (Effective immediately 16 December 2010 at 4.30pm)‏

Effective: Immediately, Thursday 16 December 2010 at 4.30pm

Transperth train services on the Joondalup and Mandurah lines are currently disrupted due to mechanical problems in Rockingham. Some services have been cancelled.

Train replacement buses are currently operating between Rockingham and Mandurah stations at train replacement stops.

This disruption is expected to cause delays on the Joondalup Line.

Passengers should allow extra travelling time and be aware that trains may not connect with normal bus and train services.

Transperth is working to rectify this disruption and apologises for any inconvenience.

Use JourneyPlanner at www.transperth.wa.gov.au to plan an alternative route, or call the Transperth InfoLine on 13 62 13 (TTY: 9428 1999, TIS: 13 14 50).

Commuters can expect delays getting home tonight after a train came off the tracks near the Mandurah station.

Transperth warned this afternoon that a train was "disrupted" near Mandurah after a "points failure".
