hey
the rear of my R32 is still damn high fully wound down so planning to remove the helper springs.

just wondering is it possible to remove them without removing the entire strut. IE if i disconnect the bottom mount of the coil over.can i wind the spring seats. down and off the actually thread then when the helper spring has fallen down and over the end of the coilover can i just wind the spring seats back up?

cheers

yeh would work if my plan was to cut into my spring seats, shock absorber and the main springs.

5inch inch is way to big.. a small air powered grinder with a 2.5inch blade on it would would but its a pingpingpingping job.

well checked..bottom of the strut is too wide.. so guess its grinder of take out entire strut and then remove top nut and slide both springs out the the top.

yep, use spring compressors too if there is any tension

once its jacked up there isnt any tension on either of the springs so thats all good. will have a go once its on the hoist tomorrow.
