Hi all,

Does anyone have handy, the document that cams states legal requirements for how soon a exhuast can exit down the body of a car? I was under the impression that its after the last opening window/door but would like to confirm. Ive downloaded and read general requirements from cams website but cant seem to see it.

Edit - car to compete in L2S events

Cheers

Josh

Toranas often have the sidepipes out the side under the doors... as per Group C specs of the day

My sports sedan had the exhaust infront of the rear tyre out the side behind the door

i thought this was a registration/licensing requirement, not CAMS required???

plenty of people have screamer pipes out the fenders, bonnet, or the side, in L2NS

Reason for asking, opportunity to go 2.3L and doing so will require a far larger turbo and this will require dump pipe going through firewall and out the passenger door just after the hinges.... However dont wanna go and buy this turbo/engine if i am going to have to redesign the wheel (more)

Obviously id have to box the pipe in from the cabin

Yeah, and a little overbore will get that from a 2.2 to a 2.3 and use pistons to suit SR20, par custom rods and the rest is pretty obvious. Will step upto a s362/s368 borgwarner however i cant get that in turbos current location so need to mount turbo on top of gearbox, dump pipe then needs to go thru firewall because even with a bp engine the GT4 box is hard up on the steering rack.

Most guys in the states can see approx 600whp like this... may aswell give it a go

Very nice, wasn't sure if it was a stroked FE3T you were contemplating or just a stocker MPS 2.3L 4WD setup. Can't wait to see this done, just make sure you get the car finished with this setup haha.
