Anyone know..
The XA won't start, seems to be the Fuel Pump has shat. Cheap replacement options is what I want to look at as I only need to move her in and out of the garage this weekend (going to begin stripping her down).
Best place? Odin Garage in Balcatta?
Will another fuel pump fit off of a younger Ford (see plenty of EB, ED etc. wrecking everywhere)...
Cheers,
Paul
Edit: It is a Fairmont, so has the 250 6Cyl.
EB, ED will have a high pressure EFI pump in the tank.
XA will have a mechanical low pressure pump mounted on the side of the block, driven by the cam.
Therefore, you definitely can’t interchange them.
Best bet is something like a Goss replacement pump, they're cheap as shit and easy to install.. and any parts place should be able to order you one in!

You can either buy a cheap replacement mechanical one to put in, (>$100), or track down a secondhander (A bit of a gamble).
You can also buy cheap generic electric pumps from places like supercheap (has to be a low pressure one suitable for carby engines.) which you can just quickly put in there to get you going by bypassing the factory pump.

Cheers Joe, realised that not long after posting the topic. Goss replacement - where from?
Charger - had a look, Odin's wants $150<$200 for a replacement, not the coin I want to spend as I will be ditching the engine once I find a Typhoon wreck. I just want it so I don't have to push the fucker up a slanting driveway into the garage. Might look into removing the engine and gearbox instead and hiring out a stand for the day to ease it, then leaving it on the tyres. Just easier to start her up though.
Might have to call Supacheap to check it out...
Edit: Guy at Supacheap said they don't stock. Bugger. Gonna try Repco. And Autopro.

Shoulda rung Autopro Innaloo first shot - Steve knows his shizzle! haha cheers!
gravity feed from a container on the roof would work & have been a bit cheaper too :P
