Camera lense hook ups?

Tryed searching but couldn't find anything.

Anyway im looking at buying a wide lense for my lil bros
Camera as his birthday is coming up. His new to photography and has a Cannon 1000D. He currently has the 2 lenses that it came with and has been keen for the wide one for a while.

Where is the best place to get one for a good price?
