CONNECTION ISSUES

If you have had problems racing online previously then I'd strongly suggest configuring your PS3 network and router settings. Even if you're connection is for the most part stable, it's still a good idea to apply these measures. They will improve network stability for all your PS3 online games.

Step 1 : Set your PS3 to a static IP address using the following step-by-step guide.
http://portforward.com/networking/staticip-ps3-playstation-3.htm

Step 2 : Configure your router to forward the appropriate ports to the PS3 static IP address.
- Select your router from the list on this page...
http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm
- 'Click here to skip this advertisement...' in the top right hand corner of the screen.
- Select 'PlayStation Network' from the list
- Follow the on screen instructions to configure your router

Once you've applied the settings to your router perform an internet connection test from the PS3 Network Settings menu. If you've done everything correctly your Nat Type will be Type 2 - which is good. If you're getting 'Type 3' then go back and make sure you've configured your PS3 and router as per the guides.

This...
Becomes kinda pointless when u do a perfect race but people are up ur ass regardless. then they punt u off the track at the end so they win....

Could we try a no boost/penalties race tonight MGR?

Yeah it is annoying, but because the skill level of drivers is so varied the pack spreads right out and you end up lapping the track by yourself if boost isn't turned on.

We can try a race or two with:
- No boost
- Penalties on high
- Qualifying session with grid set fastest to front

In my opinion this'll only satisfy a couple of players and bore everybody else, but I guess it doesn't hurt to try.

Could try one evening of shuffle racing in a week or two? thats not a bad way to level things out.

PS3 firmware 3.6 has been released.

You'll need to update before you can play online tonight.

Boost on low is ok, makes it closer, but not all on top of each other.

Downforce and weight affects PP too if you want to tune your car, ie on a fast track you could take some downforce off and lose PP, then use it to add more power to get back to the PP limit.

Good fun.

Sorry im a bit rusty, first time ive touched gt5 in 6 weeks, and it shows. Just a bit rough around the edges.

The golfs at the ring were awesome, got punted to last, get a perfect run on the straight, draft everyone to 1st, then get punted into the 2nd last corner :P

You learn very quickly that if you wail on some one in the first few races, revenge lasts the entire night.

and lol at the new catchphrase "munt you kunt"

I kinda didnt mind the nascars at london, would be keen to try them on a track that is still tight-ish but a bit more space (if that makes sense)

Swapping from them to the Lotus took a bit of getting used to heheh

Nurby was good fun too, and most of the PP600 races

The recommended cars thing is gay, ffs if Poly spent more of the 5 years tweaking online play and less time modelling screwheads on indicator lenses it would be so much better

I was dominating that Nascar race! On high boost I will still holding 2-5 seconds lead... then find two guys doing nuts on the tightest part of the track 5&&*$%^$#@^# :)
