does anybody else on here read these books? i have a feeling since there is a large amount of asian people and white boys who like asian cars (myself included) on antilag there is a solid chance a few people here have read or are reading these books.

i started reading them just over 10 years ago, i remember being in year 7 and really digging it. since then i have read from book 1 - 8 (as that was the most recent at the time) stopped then read again from 1 - 6 but then i was like 17 and more into shitty commodores and being 17. since i have committed and read from 1-11, and had a break of about 3 months and am now starting book 12, the 1st of the 3 parter ending.

all i can say is, wow. great fantasy series or greatest fantasy series? i honestly would put the epicness of this series up there with lord of the rings. not taking anything away from LOTR, tolkien made a series as epic as WOT but in only 3 (and a half-ling) books.

anyway, i wont go into detail into any events without giving spoiler warnings, and no doubt some of you will probably be a book or two infront of me now.

i just marvel at the complexity of the plots, and exactly how far ahead in time some of this shit was first seeded and mentioned. max respect to robert jordan, amazing foresight. i dont remember much from life as a 12 year old, but i remember finishing eye of the world and thinking... omfg. maybe i was young, and i probably wasnt thinking ahead about what was coming, just following the story, but even the ending to that first book that just chucked the story wide open was pretty great.

i was genuinely quite sad when i heard he died, but this new guy seems to be carrying the torch from the two chapters i have read so far. i really dont want the series to end, but tbh i really want a conclusion lol.

edit - i read books, i dont write them, i apologise if my spelling is lacking, i have never been that great at it.

Big fan of these books, was sad to hear of Jordan's passing. New guy has done well with the ending though (so far). Hopefully last book ties it all off.

agreed, sanderson has done a good job, saying that though jordan had most of the main plot lines completed and all his notes, just had to be put together
good series, i like it better than lotr, probably a sign of when it was written but i found the books to be overdramatic which kinda annoyed me
read george rr martin song of ice and fire series next, epic:)

Yeah i read the first few, must say they did seem a lot like lord of the rings though, similar themes and character roles etc, however good stuff, hard to find books like these....Chucked the whole series on my ipad, great way to chill out...

wasnt a huge fan of W.O.T ...

The best fantasy around at the moment imo is A song of Ice and Fire... it is amazing. A TV show following it comes out in around a fortnight in America

cheers for the tip on the next series, i will definatly be keen to start something new when i get a resolution on WOT lol.

every year there is talk of WOT movies or a tv series etc. i really really dont want it done, i dont know about this other series, but wheel of time is so rich and descriptive that i doubt any director could paint a better picture than whats in my head when i read the books.

also there is just far too much content to fit into a movie, so much would be skipped for each book. 700+ pages would not condense down into 2 hours very well i dont think.

i agree, that's why i think the tv series for a game of thrones will be good, hbo are also the only people that could pull off the violence and sexual content of the books, i read the sword of truth series too back in the day and the tv show was complete and utter crap, made the same as xena and hercules etc...
