Bugger! I haven't finished putting the Beast back together, otherwise would've been keen.
Only the Stagea is running, but as it's not a performance car, I won't be there.

Cheers. My arse chomped up a fair bit of seat afterwards, I can't get over the amount of wheelspin I get in the cold, it's ridiculous. Second run I had off the lights it wheelspun right through to 5th gear and held it for what seemed like a good few hundred metres?

I liked the scene departing Pt Kennedy. Everyone's confused and driving around in circles...Cliff(?) gets on brake... everyone gets on brake. Awesome :)

he wasnt even part of the cruise, infact the only guys doing skids were onlookers that were already at the carpark showing off as they left.. its just silly

Jizz-Lebrity

Thanks for correcting me, Antilag.com does not approve of skids :)

I have never gotten on the brake. EVER.

Not even legally on a sanctioned, private road? ;)

Jizz-Lebrity
13-04-2011, 09:18 AM
LOL nice, they were Dunlop SP Sports you piece of shit :)

Other than that pair, its always been 275/30 KU19's. Your mate Andy should be able to tell you that.

Turbo2.6L
13-04-2011, 09:39 AM
Dunlops = Rubbish.
KU19 = Dog Shit.

Expand your budget to include tyres in the $250+ range & you may have some grip in future. Steer clear of the new Toyo's that took T1R's place as they are as bad as Kuhmo's :(

Madhav
13-04-2011, 11:33 AM
I'm in the same boat, I have KU31's, 275 rears and cant get much in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Kinda pointless having power without traction...

What would you recommend in terms of a decent $250+ tyre Turbo4L? ^^

EDIT: I came across this (http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/comparisons/09q2/tire_test_nine_affordable_summer_tires_take_on_the _michelin_ps2-comparison_tests) article which reviews several decent tyres.

mitchy
13-04-2011, 11:41 AM
if you are just standing on it from 1st, 2nd to 3rd yes you will have that issue.
learn to throttle it, i had no issue with 255 KU31's with more power.

What size wheels are you running? If 18" or smaller, try the Toyo R1R's. Best value for money tyre on the market imho & held the F6 to the road with 550rwhp no dramas!

Nankangs or linglongs!

Madhav
13-04-2011, 12:17 PM
I never apply full throttle in first or second, slowly ease into it in 3rd, however thats not the point, it's more that I have read about other supra's in the USA with 400-500whp and actually having really good traction in 1st and 2nd, so I know it's possible, just gotto find out what my options are.

Yeah 18's, 245/40 fronts and 275/35 rears. Thanks will check them out.

Handkook Ventus (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Hankook&tireModel=Ventus+V12+evo+K110&partnum=34YR8K110XL) get very good reviews, cheap too.

linglongs ftw.... lol the name doesn't really inspire confidence

Fucking stupid Australian prices on the R1R....

Aussie price: $468 http://www.thewheeldeal.com.au/index.php?cPath=279_200_205&&page=2&osCsid=7154366ed6dc537205a01ee6616059ee

USA price: $224 http://www.tiresdirect.net/TOYO_Proxes_R1R_265_35ZR18_93W_P4722C885.cfm

Anyway the toyos look to be the best street tyres, will look around for a deal online. It usually costs around $200 to get the tyres shipped from the USA, so still cheaper than the local aussie prices.

Turbo2.6L
13-04-2011, 02:36 PM
245/40 fronts & 265/35 rears will be your sizes as they don't come in a 275.
Up until last Friday i could of got you good pricing, but my mate has now left Tyrepower. Unruckee!

Madhav
13-04-2011, 03:05 PM
Thanks for the input mate. :) I actually have a friend that works at a tyre shop so will compare his mates rates to the USA prices. Will see if anyone wants my kuhmos. They are basically brand new. Only done like 1000km.

stumps.
13-04-2011, 03:13 PM
price?

Madhav
13-04-2011, 04:07 PM
price?

For what? My kuhmos or the toyos?

My 275/35/18 kuhmos cost me $250 each. So I'd be chasing about $180 each.

You were paying retail anyway, he just made you think you were getting a deal.
