can get the exact measurements, but basically just need a chunk of metal sheeting to mount a fire extinguisher with, will be mounting it under the front seat rail and to the floor (probs just velcro down then under matts.

just thin stuff will be fine, will hit up propper shops if nobody has anything of use for me.

um.. how big is this fire extinguisher? could you not just have something like...

and then just bolt that fucker down?
weight saving, easier to nick from the engineers shed, etc.

p.s: sorry about size.

i could have something exactly like that, would work just the same and be better at weight saving, however i figured 1 sheet would be easy to purchase, require no work to make and should be doable, however if someone has 2 strips say 50-60mm long, and 10cm would be super keen, then could just tack on some bar to join the two and they would be perfect.

i dont spose you have something like that?

whatever is the cheapest. sounds awesome, i'll measure up the width now and tell you. i also drew a picture for you so we are on the same page:

length from bolt to centre of the fire extinguisher is less than 30cm, but not by much

edit ok i measured propperly, and came up with this:

you are a genius with the two strips thing, because the floor is not flat under the seat (makes room for the exhaust), so i can easily use my good friend the rubber mallot to make it suit the floor better on that end, then drill two holes and fit away.

let me know how you go, i dont need it till next tues, and am happy to pay for your efforts.

ok done, i'll make it small, but sturdy, i'll bang a few pilot holes in it, then you can go for broke on fitment. haha

haha sounds good. i have the tools here to cut and pop rivet (structural integrity is my middle name) and i also posses a 140 amp arc welder, i can generally turn rather flat pieces of metal into balls that have a mind of their own as to where they end up. but whatever you come up with i'm positive with your knowhow and my backyard vl turbo engineering we can make something magical happen.

i'll make it small, but sturdy,

yeah i was wrong about the 30cm, it was 50, is that going to fuck everything up?

printed the picture for good measure, i'll see waht i can get crankin.

is this just a small 'just encase' fire extinguisher, like the $40-$50 ones from auto stores?

yeah just like a 1-2k jobby. currently have a 1 kg SCA special, but its about 1.5 years old, showing low pressure and hasnt been tagged, so i will try get it tagged and pressurised, but i may just buy a new one so i can run this track day coming up.
