ok so it was time to get a new clutch so i bought a coppermix from JPC for 900 used, but in good nick, little bit of scortching on the flywheel and pressure but nothing some sandpaper couldnt fix. actual disc has pleanty of meat.
so i got a workshop to do it with me (me watching over and giving a hand) and they slogged me with $400.
the problem was initially the car wouldnt get into gear. i played with the master cylinder and managed to crunch into gears but it was dragging.
called danny at JPC and said it could be release bearing carrier was a differnt size, so he gave me one for free(cheers) and i pulled my gbox out myself and swapped them over
now its dragging still AND slipping on high boost too.
im thinking i could solve this by adjusting the pivot bolt and getting a slave cyl with a decent amount of throw.
thanks guys.
ps. old clutch was single plate OS gieken or something. much like this http://www.osgiken.net/products/supersingle.html

Did you get the flywheel machined at the same time?
Just out of curiosity, why didn't you just get the OS gieken clutch rebuilt?

Did you measure the old release bearing, and compare it to the 1st one you had in, and the current one?

When you say dragging, do you mean hard to get into gear when stationary, or do you mean you cant get it into gear at all, can turn the engine off, engage gear and then on teh starter motor the car starts moving?

Do you have clutch pedal free play at the pedalbox?

I mean, i can get gears just really hard, reverse is impossible to get without crunching and when starter motor turns over car moves a little bit. yes i mean when stationairy. Yeah about half cm shorter than the 1st one.

I had the same problem with the clutch in my corolla, all I had to do is adjust the clutch pedal, have you tried that ?

Is it an original dual mass flywheel or has it been converted to single mass ?
Why didn't you get it machined if it was scorched ?
Why did you fit a s/h clutch... and more importantly... why did they remove it in the first place ?
