No reason a stout 355 with a decent manifold/manual box shouldnt make 350-400 bhp... No 10sec weapon but still move a vs ute pretty hard.

I agree I was just stirring, but you have to poke them a bit harder to get them making numbers. Mark is right though, in a solid axle rear end they are a handful, fuck the IRS bullshit.

If I can steal the thread for a minute, who tunes a good Aussie V8? Mate has a Pure Grunt 355 which really needs a good tune. Any recommendations? He heard 308 performance.. Is that now BYE or different mob? SQP might tune them, but I haven't checked the website yet.

Can I suggest not jewing out on a VU SS... There are plenty of cheap ones kicking around now and they are absolute shit heaps.

I spent middle ground money when I bought my 02 SS and even then it was shite. Warning lights coming on and off, clutch issues, general shit not working as it should.

Get one with a FULL service history that hasn't been owned by some tosser in a tapout cap.

One bloke that works at Auto One in Midland ripped out the 5L out of his vs ss ute and replaced it with a worked rb25, gt35 etc etc.
Was at the drags 2 weeks ago and sounded insane with gate.

Worked V8 would be the go tho IMO.
