Gents,
does anyone have any data or knowledge on how long forged pistons last?
Im about to strip down the RB25 and the aris pistons have done about 60,000 km.
Thoughts and advice?

Aries are pretty much fucked from factory. Get a piston that isn't oval to begin with.

Better to be safe then sorry, I'd get new ones regardless.

longer than WRX pistons...
but 60,000km is about "4 years of driving" for an import (if you work it out on 15k a year) ... in theory they should be fine, but maybe inspect them for cracks, hell could even buy a cheap chemical dye for NDT testing to see if they are fine... as long as the motor hasnt been hammered i see no reason why they shouldnt need to be

maybe i can order some round bearings for you.

Ps. What makes you think your fucked piston ring isn't due to your Aries?
This is all speculation, but every Aries equipped GTR I've heard rattles HARD on warm up, and from memory the Aries require a much larger piston to bore clearance.
Maybe the reason you keep popping motors (fucking piston skirts) is because the large piston-bore clearance is the cause of excessive force on the piston skirt, and eventually they break.
Fork out, get yourself a set of Tomei's and you should't have the same issue.

Won't you need them for your dak dak?

Im not against getting new pistons. compression tests show that there is nothing wrong with the pistons , rings or bottom end. Only ever smashed 1 piston. that was factory. xox

Paul is just jealous because you've got the better looking GTR.

+1 arias a rattly as fuck on startup, the recommend huge clearances. go something jap like tomei.
or a set of cp pistons. mine were dead quiet and my mechanic wont use anything but cp's.
yes my motor did go bang with cp pistons but it wasnt due to piston quality.

JE if you want CP quality without the pricetag, but none of this helps tristan answer his question.

my ls3 motor in the ve has mahle forged pistons. can't hear a thing out that.
new 410ci motor will have cp's.
the cp's are 4.130" in size and i got 8 of them for under $1k.

Everything is just links to forums asking the same question with little backed up or referenced information.
Check your piston wear, not ringland damage or scoring etc just the wear. Check your Piston pin, etc. If the verniers say everything is the same I can't see why you would have to replace them.
You could also consider getting everything x-rayed while your at it.

knew i forgot something. the 402 in my drag car has forged pistons, unknown what brand the engine was built nearly 5 years ago, but it has probably close to 50 or 60K km's. the engine was in my vy ute and was daily driven and thrashed before i put in my drag car.
i dont see why a forged piston wouldnt last longer than standard i presume cast alluminium ones.

So why are you pulling the motor down if it has compression?

Well seeing as it's done 25k km since the last freshen up. got to take head off, needs a new clutch. may as well.

As everyone else has said, take a look at them, check measurements - if within spec I would say good to go. I can't see a forged piston just wearing out (without other underlying issues), ie. My motor uses Mahle pistons standard. 293,000kms when I stripped it down - pistons fine, needed new rings and the bores weren't parallel from piston slap (caused from worn rings)

in keeping with the theme of not answering the question... <insert rotary comment here>
if the tune was fine, if the oil was changed on the dot, there should not be anything wrong with them. If it bothers you so much get them crack tested. Doesnt cost that much.
If it were me - as long as the ring lands were fine, Id just smash a new set of rings in... as Im a tightarse.
