Lost Amazon Tribe - Your opinion?

Who else read about this in The Weekend West today? I can't seem to find an article online for it, but below is a preview for the "docu" that is going to be on ABC tomorrow night.

I'll try to scan and upload the paper tomorrow for those that want to read the article, but I think it's particularly fucking stupid of the reporter+journalist/whateverfuckwit pair to go in to this tribe's village (w/ Brazilian government officials, but who gives a shit) and show the tribe all the technology that we have. A comment of one of the pair stated that the elders weren't interested in the technology (laptops, cameras, etc) but the children were very very interested and wanted to know more - no shit sherlock, they're kids! Another comment regarded infanticide - if that is what this tribe does, and has done for thousands of years, then let them fucking do it.

Anyway, I think these guy's may have potentially ruined this lost civilization purely because they wanted to get a good story. The tribe has lived the way they have for THOUSANDS of years without interaction or help from anyone else, and now they have to change their ways because that's not how western civilization does things?

So what are your opinions on it? Should they have stayed the fuck out or do you think it was good of them to be nosey pingpingpingpings?

He was the same pingpingpingping who tried to expose a lost tribe in New Guinea or Irian Jaya a few years ago with "sigh" today tonight with the help of the annoying Naomi Robson tried to save a little boy "wa wa" accused of being an evil spirit so he was going to be killed in a cannibal ritual, etc so went over trying to do the story and save the boy, they were detained as they were trying to film with tourist visas etc.

I don't think killing them gruesomely is the answer, but evolution dictates that only the strong should survive.

The problem with current humans is that they will do anything to survive or keep people alive. Things like diabetes, genetic diseases and disabilities in general would be non-existant if modern medicine didn't try to keep them alive (and continue breeding). I believe the human race would be stronger and healthier overall (not to meantion, reducing the population is better for the balance of the earth's ecosystems) if we reduced our dependance on health care and technology and took a page from tribes like these.

Also, they should be left alone to preserve their beliefs and way of life.

I do believe they commit suicide when they're sick so there's no burden on the rest of the tribe to look after them? It'd be one person that still requires food/water, yet one less person to hunt/gather/collect it.

And then they have a tendency to commit suicide when another commits suicide because they want to join them in the afterlife, which is why they take that drug to calm themselves everyday.

As I said, they've lived this way for thousands of years - why do they have to change just because some of their practices are against international Human Rights? Clearly that shit doesn't apply for them.

I agree with leaving them the fuck alone. Like our society is any better than theirs? Head to Northbridge at 2am on a Saturday morning and you will find plenty of examples of people who should have been taken into the woods and buried alive as infants.
