Speedo issues

I have a vn calais and my speedo is playing up. It only registers to when i get to the 60kph area and only reads 20 kph on the speedo. have got a second hand speedo sensor from the wreckers and made no difference any other reasons to why its playing up andhow can i fix it.

Have you tried slamming your fist into the dash that fixes most vn dash problems.

Yeah many of times and to no succsess. when i stomp on the fun pedal some times it just shoots up to 180kph ish and id only be doing 80 odd kph could the gears in the back of the dash cluster be rooted

Take the cluster out and go to applied intsruments.. in alot of commos its the actual speedo, shouldnt be an expensive fix.

quick question if i have a wiring fault with my speedo would it effect my odo aswell
