[20TH JAN] Total Construction Drag Day

[Turbo2.6L]

Thinking of organising another drag day if the interest is out there, so register your interest asap in order to get this off the ground. It will be held sometime in January 2012, but exact date will not be booked until we have 20 interested members & a suitable date can be agreed upon.
Cost will be ~$280 which includes 1 prepped lane for the day, 1 un-prepped lane (Whoop ass Wednsday Spec) for the day, BBQ lunch & the use of a car trailer should the need arise.

Cars should meet the current Andra requirements for the times you're running, but pm me if you think you don't meet the requirements & i'll let you in on a little secret :D

Finally had a reply from Peter Pike with available dates... So, we have:

I am leaning more toward Friday 20th January as this will fall on my RDO, but open to suggestions from people that can't make that date for whatever reason.
I will leave discussions open until Sunday night, at which point i will choose a suitable date that best suits the majority. Don't leave it too late or you will miss out.

Is the plex doing more than 10 cars again, as last year it got capped at 10 cars because someone abused the track day allowing heaps of their mates to just rock up an race .
hope that part has been discussed with you an pikey , don't wish for 20 of you guys to show and only ten being able to race .

Sorry for the bad news, but i will not be pressing the issue of booking a date with Motorplex any further due to the fact they are total useless pingpingpingpings there. If i receive a reply to one of the 50 emails i have shot off in the past 8 weeks, i will go ahead & lock something in, otherwise i am over it.
If anyone else wants to take the reins & press forward, be my guest. We clearly have enough interest, i just cbf worrying about it any further.

I don't see thier concern a few of us are all seasoned drag racers, i dont tend to go to the big events as it's waste of $$$ for so few runs, that's why i stick to wednesday nights.

I've been phoning a motorplex rep 2-3 times a week since this post and getting no where. I have left several messages of late and not getting call backs.

I will be phoning him again today.

I am still keen to make this happen but the motorplex are not sharing this goal.

I'm out as the new regs mean there is no gains for me anymore.

Justin, how fast are you planning on going? If the new regs at WAW don't suit, you may find they are not happy to let you run those times on the private day either. As i understood it from my original phonecalls, we were allowed to run quicker than ANDRA regs allowed but still not stupidly quick for the safety provisions we actually had... A 9 in an older car with no cage/TS Loop/Harness/Wrist Straps/Battery Isolator?Race Suit/License etc etc will be highly frowned upon.

10.00-10.49 I have harness, TS loop, batt isolator SS stuff. My car should walk a 10.49 with new engine and gearbox set-up, but there is a huge leap from there to 9.99 so that may never happen but I`d like to muck around in the low 10`s and see how close to a flat 10 I can go.

Anyway I`m still keen if enough other people are, a bit later in the cooler months would be prefered.

You're teched to 10.50 on WAW, so low 10's & the occasional 9.9X should be ok. Best to confirm with Motorplex staff prior to the day though just in case.

On the basis that all vehicles are “Street Cars” we can do the track hire under our new WAW Street Regulations and Public Liability Insurance policy.

The track hire would be one lane only and the number of vehicles that can run is 12 cars.

If you wish to proceed please confirm and I will send out the track hire forms.

Bzzzzt. 12 cars is rubbish, too expensive for what is essentially a WAW style event.
Did they give you a cost for the one lane? Probably more expensive than it was last time for 2 lanes...
