Antilag Christmas Party - Options, Vote now!

We're in discussion with a couple of people at the moment regarding organising a Christmas Party or New Years Party hosted by antilag.com. This would be an open party, hosted by us.

There is obviously interest, as the other thread had 60+ people registering interest in the first 2 hours of it being open.

Option 1:
Naturally, any party hosted by us wouldn't be the same without some sort of car activity, and the one that seems most suitable for a party is burnouts.
We're thinking something along the lines of hiring out Kwinana Motorplex for a night, with camping available, and the snake pit being open to whoever wants to fry some tyres (so long as you blow 0.00!).
Alcohol will be provided, and security would be outsourced to a friends security company, which would ensure no power-hungry bouncers ruin anyone's night.
Music and entertainment to be provided, and some more events are in the pipeline.

Entry would be $30ish for spectators/party people, or $80ish if you want to bring your car and do skids at some stage throughout the night.
Powerskids / general cruising would be allowed during the day, and it would be more about doing skids through the pit instead of one massive skid until you pop the tyres.
Basically, it would be a repeat of the Antilag Motorvation party of old days, except skids in the snake-pit, not in the camping area.
We would offer discounts for 'club entries', then assign them a specific spot for their club.

We would need at least 300+ people to be interested in order to run it.


Option 2:
We hire out a function centre of some sort, set up a bar, BBQ, DJ setup, and have a general party / mingle. There wouldn't be any skids, but as such the total cost of it all would be a whole lot cheaper.

Basically, if we don't get enough interest to cover the $20,000+ we'll need to do the Motorplex option, this is what we'll hold.

Pricing will be approximately $20 per head, which covers security and staffing. Alcoholic drinks / BBQ food available to buy throughout the night.

Please vote as to which one you would attend, and if you'd attend both, vote for both!

i love the sound of option 1, but i think option 2 would be ideal ... has there isnt the need for Non-AL people to attend to bump up the numbers ... non-AL could cause headaches for us / security ... or take it as a free pass to cause trouble.

Yes, doing skids if I'm not working away - will pay for a spot regardless. Work your shit out ASAP so you can open spots to ALM/AL and when the interest slows up start to advertise it, 20k is easy to do - just need to sort it NOW!

As awesome as option 1 would be, I think it would need more planning than the time frame allows to make sure it's not just dreamers raising their hands. Also it's fucking hot that time of year, n event like that would be better off around April/May imo. An out of the way-ish hall with good tunes and drinks flowing would be sweet, and i'm sure skids of some form would eventuate at some point. Taxi cab nats? Voted option 2.

I don't see Option 1 as being unachievable..

Whenever we attend MV I can never get my hands on enough camping passes.. factor in friends and gf's, car whores etc all wanting to get in on the action, 500 people @ $30/head is already 15k.

Fuck yo weather, if it's good enough for drag racing season and events like MV, it should be good for AL. Set up a giant pool/spa/foam party area if you need to.

Talk to sponsors, there is only infinity of them to scroll through to get to the for sale section of the forum now, they'll come to the party with dollar dollar bills to get their little brand slapped on the fliers and get in on the ground level of what will undoubtedly grow to be a huge annual 2 day event.

i can ask a mate who recently held a skidpan night there ... they allowed the short circuit to be utilised as well, Tyson, Dean and myself chopped up on there as most people wanted to do skids.
