Friend is chasing a new car and has narrowed it down to these two as they are similar in price.
Not giving how much to spend as people tend to raise the price of their shitter close to the asking price once they see how much they have to spend.
I know what the average market price is so show me what you have.

Modified, stock, manual, auto?

The usual mods -exhaust,FMIC , nothing hardcore like twin plate and 100mm cooler though ;)
Manual preferred but auto is ok

Obviously non modded would be cheaper

Go R33. Second hand performance bits are everywhere, more tuners in WA etc.

I'm talking from a grass is greener perspective though, toyo's don't get as much love. Lots of stuff available from yahoo.jp and jeese streeter though.

That was the reasoning for the 33, just about get parts anywhere, if can find a mildly modded JZX90 for the money then will look into it, its going to be a daily that may cop a foot full every now and then and maybe a the odd track/motorkhana event.

If he isn't fussed on either, no point trying to get a 90. As far as i am aware, none for sale atm in WA. Manuals are hard to find, and will cost more than an R33.

LOL, typical. Tis auto though, and for that price, you could get a mildly modded inferior R33 for that.

How so? Turbo auto R32's go for more than 8k?

Ended up with a 4 door R34 for 8k
Exhaust, FMIC, EBC,Rims n stereo
Auto but meh, goes nice , just shit paint on front end due to copping a light tap in car park and the guy trying his hand and painting, used an orange peel gun by the looks, easy fix.
Yay for cash strapped debt owing uni students :)

8k for a Rego'd R34 4 door, definitely the right price! Its definitely a buyers market..

On a side note, motorkhana WILL NOT HAPPEN in a skyline. At the very least not without at least coilovers, hicas lock bars, and a proper diff.

Unless you're pretty exceptional with a handbrake you'd never get one around the corners tightly enough to have fun, or be competitive.

Your definition of fun and someone elses differ greatly, seen plenty of people in soarers and skylines have mint fun doing them, Brockas and BLAAA for example, so while it won't be a handling weapon, it does have enough suspension mods that the owner WILL have great fun doing these events.

Cliff, I saw the original ad last night, the guy was originally asking 15K, so did exceptionally well, wasnt even boosted as they installed the controller in backwards,LOL :)

Great bargain no less, leaves room for manual conversion which will add value over the auto believe you me ! Good motor the Neo.

After adding some boost yesterday and playing around with the SAFC I'm suprised how fun it is with the Triptronic, ordering a shift kit for it this week and after watching some youtube videos of shiftkitted skylines/stageas, they go quite good, I think the owner is happy with an auto, is a daily and Perth traffic sux for a manual.

Mate at work had a R34 with tiptronic until he was rear ended a few months back, went bloody well with minor mods.

For 8k i would be over the moon, definitely a buyers market out there for imports.
