Where: Riverton Forum Shopping Centre
Time: 2pm meet, 3pm leave

http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=186637558083516

You guys asked for it; with the massive success of JDMWA's last Sunday photoshoot meet/cruise, we will be running one again on the 27th of November.

This time a meetup at 2pm for a 3pm cruise departure from Riverton Shopping Centre Carpark, and we will be finishing up the cruise near the coast for a sunset photoshoot.

All those awesome photographers we had at our last meet that submitted photos, we of course would like to invite you back to cover our event once again, plus the usual suspects organised by us will be taking photos from our last events also. JDMWA stickers will be available on the day, and this time we will have enough for everybody we promise you:)

For those who have attended our events before will know the rules; no skids at meetpoints or street racing, don't ruin the fun for other drivers and cause unwanted attention to the event.

These meetups are designed to allow JDM car enthusiasts a spot to meet some new people with the same interest, get some photos taken, and keep the WA Japanese car scene alive.

There is also a northside inbound cruise for the northies to cruise up together from Karrinyup Shopping Centre upstairs carpark meet at 1pm for a 1.30pm departure via mitchell/kwinana fwy to the Riverton Meetup.

#Specifically no NON-JDM cars at our events unless personally invited by one of our admins.

NOR Pre-meet
Where: Karrinup Shopping Centre, upstairs carpark.
Time: 1pm meet, 1:30pm leave

SOR Pre-meet http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=240425409353329
Where: Mike Barnett Sports Complex, corner of Goddard street and Dixon road
Time: 12:30pm meet, 1pm leave
There is now a Cockburn Gateways meet point added to our SOR route. Will be there at approx 1:30pm. Those wishing to meet up should be there at 1:15pm. We will only be there for 15minutes so be there early.

Hope to see some of you there :)

Good way to avoid police presence for the next event.

Noticed lots of idiots swerving from end to end of their lane on freeway. Looked ridiculous and stupidly unsafe for cars (public) around.
Actually asked one of the guys at the stop why he was doing it, said he wanted more grip from his tyres....

Think people need to learn common road rules especially in built up areas; overtaking on solid lines on on-ramp to freeway, indicating or giving you some notice before they jump to your lane (then on the brakes) and not to play around with reverse gear when your STOPPED at lights.

Maybe I was just following the wrong group of cars, apart from that seemed like a decent cruise (not sure after the first two points) but looked like it was well executed with adequate carparks etc for volume of cars.

It's depressing to see how bad the car scene has become.

+1 so many bullshit clubs, muppet driving. Even when you compare it to just 6 months to a year ago. Shit has got so much worse. Behavior (sp?) like this wont affect just one car club to another. It affect the japanese car scene as a whole. We get enough attention as it is. Every pingpingpingping who owns an s13 thinks they are ken nomura. Its these muppets that ruin it for everyone. Hence why i quite often wonder whats the point in owning a modified jap car.

Lol

+1 to way to many muppet clubs/drivers out there, I don't take my car to cruises, maybe the official Antilag ones but that'd be about it. The rest just attract so many muppets that you'll end up worse off than what you were when you decided to go for a drive, by either having some douche rear end you or being picked on by the police as the majority of cars you're travelling with are mucking about.

Most enthusiasts will agree with me that'd rather enjoy their car on their own than being nervous about being taken out in a group of idiots, and from the pics it looks like the idiots were out and about.

Isn't Antliag for "High performance cars"? last time i checked VIP isn't.
To me it shows that the general community of WA JDM car owners who attempt to copy the styles from Japan can't afford to and therefore have to do it cheaply.

Spud bear, i'm not mad at all. Text makes it hard to convey emotion (with out the LOLs and the OMGs etc..). I've just noticed that after every cruise there is always a "spot the p.o.s" and post and winge about it for 2 pages.

Erm.

Any LARGE meet will attract questionable vehicles and their mates and then their mates mates etc...

The friday/saturday cruises are actual "cruises" and are by far the most pleasurable and easy going - it's not a cluster fuck, way better roads, they're not during the FUCKING DAY and good-person-ratio is quite high (because only a few cars).

Problem with the day time stuff members of the public see all this retarded shit, especially the elderly..and they fk'n remember this and they will hate even more :( And there is way too much traffic on the road, it's fucking dangerous, nobody knows when to calm the fuck down and drive like a normal human being, I'm really surprised nobody got rear ended.

No if you actually read the banner at the top left of your screen you will read it Clearly says " Where performance matters" not "high" performance cars. This means a group of car enthusiasts that are concerned about the performance of their vehicle so quality suspension parts, engine modifications, quality brakes etc. This does not mean cheap imitation wheels, brakes, engine components etc. Hope this clears things up.

3/4 of the cars at the antilag motive cruise were at jdmwa cruise, there is always rice everywhere but there is also quality - how else would there have been 8/9 R34 GTR's in attendance, and im not talking stock with muppet bogans driving them - im talking good quality modified with japanese quality wheels (and this is just an example of some cars in attendance)

Is antilag scared of the competition in the jap area of things? why else would there be so many people giving it attention and on here posting about how 'shit' they thought it was, without even bothering to attend any of the cruises over the last few months? If its so shit, why bother to even post about it?

Not asking you to give it any respect at all, but give it a chance, how is it remotely like roe without the drink driving or juvies or single peggers? lols - at least there was no rear-endings at 80km/h on entries to freeways and peopling mounting keep left signs...or even hitting hyundai getz'

is antilag scared of the competition in the jap area?
I like how you assume people posting in this thread are speaking on behalf of all antilag members.

I can tell you right now, Antilag is not concerned with 'competition' in the Jap area. I was not aware it was a competition?? We have no intention of welcoming every driver in the state with a performance car, instead we would much prefer a smaller group of true enthusiasts who know how to drive. If other clubs adopt an "all welcome" policy that is fine by us.

The way we look at it, the more people involved in the car scene, the better. The members of this forum have never been afraid to call out others who are either incapable of driving in a respectful manner, or drive with no regard for the safety of others, and I personally believe this is necessary.

Without this, certain people in this world would not understand that OVERTAKING IN AN EMERGENCY LANE IS FUCKING IDIOTIC!

I believe I speak for the majority of Antilag when I say that the only interest we have in other clubs is either working with them to improve the car scene in WA, or ensuring they don't fuck it up for the rest of us.

By the sounds (and looks) of things, the driving was pretty poor from a few people on this cruise. It isn't JDMWA's fault, as we've seen some completely retarded driving on Antilag cruises by a few people.
All I can suggest to those who run JDMWA is to publicly name-and-shame those drivers who put other people at risk on a cruise.

I like how you assume people posting in this thread are speaking on behalf of all antilag members.

Sorry I should have rephrased that, didn't mean to say they were speaking on behalf of the club, just tired of a small few members not giving other clubs a chance and thinking that a few muppets attending represent the whole club - everyones gotta start somewhere I guess and I agree with you about the name and shame, just don't put shame on the club is all I'm trying to say.

The problem with these new "clubs" is that they go for the quantity over quality to get their name across, and then they wonder why they get labelled as such.

Clubs that go for the Quality 1st are never big, forums are boring, and people lose interest very quickly (obviously a generalisation, there are always exceptions). I'm not sayin this is a bad thing, because you end up with a bunch of good mates. But if you want to go on a cruise to see what the rest of Perth is doing to similar cars, large cruises are the way to go.

I say this with the upmost respect, but a fb page does not equal a club.

After the best part of a decade, we can be proud of how far we have come as a club.

As Paul rightly said, we want nothing more than a strong scene filled with good cars, events, and people. Telling someone they drove like an idiot is not "war between clubs" but merely trying to tell people to improve their behaviours, as it tarnishes EVERYONE when they do STUPID SHIT in the MIDDLE OF THE DAY.

I completely agree, personally I would rather have 20 enthusiasts that will enjoy themselves rather than 200 fuck heads that tarnish this club or any other clubs reputation because of their own stupidity. I have a holden, but that doesnt mean I have a rats tail, wear unit or drive like a dick. Its irrelevant what you drive so long as you enjoy it, be respectfull to others and drive in a safe manner. Because you're ( not you TJ, im generalising ) the one who wears the consiquences ( loss of license / points ect ) but the club wears the bad name. And that sticks.

/Rant.

lets not forget the age difference here.

A lot of these guys are younger and when you are younger you do stupid shit. I did and I challenge anyone who says they never did stupid things when they were young. When i was 19 i managed to park my 180 smack bang in the middle of a roundabout!! It could have been a tree, a rock or worse another car with people inside it. Its important when you get these younger people out on their first cruise that they show respect for other road users and try not to destroy themselves, their car or anyone elses in the process. Time and place is something you learn with experience. Lets try to pass on some of that experience. If you see them doing something stupid try to talk to them about it. Just because they are young doesnt mean they are stupid probably just over excited.

Carrying on like harry hard nuts wont help either. If someone had come up to you when you had just done a great burnout at a meet point and gone what are you doing you fucking dickhead blah blah blah You would most likely just do another one and leave. It isn't going to help as much as talking to them next time you see them and explain that burnouts are great but save them for the end of the cruise when you are on some backroad in the middle of whoop whoop. Not in the middle of suburbia with 100 most likely illegally modified cars.

The teenager with the bunky falcadore could be the TJ of tomorrow ;)

I agree as well. And Antilag had to start somewhere, as does this club. 10 years ago, forums, MSN, ICQ etc... were a major way to gather enthusiasts. Now, facebook is used to get the word out but one issue is filtering. Obviously you can't filter out the trash as good as you can on a forum or through instant messaging.

There is a JDMWA forum also, so it's not just a facebook page.

I would suggest that on the next few JDMWA cruises those who misbehave are reported. Do this for a while and they'll stop attending. I know this has cleaned up the SilviaWA cruises considerably, and as expected, dropped the numbers to a more manageable size.

Plus 10 years ago, many of the members now on Antilag were competing at Barbagallo, Nurburgring, AHG driver events and winning trophies at AUTOSALON. Keep this in mind next time you want to log in to JDMWA.

AHG didnt exist 10 years ago.....

Not sure who here has competed at the ring either...

Anyhow, I will make a point.

10 years ago, when some of us were doing incredibly stupid shit on the roads (myself included, I admit I did way too much stupid shit and am probably on here by pure chance) -

- less media coverage of "hoons"
- no hoon laws
- much more reasonable police attitudes to performance car enthusiasts
- less technology to show the "bad side"

now, anyone can own a slr, or an iphone that has good enough resolution to capture us doing this shit, day or night.
today tonight and aca LOVE kicking us and making us out to be hitlers children
the police love targetting us as an easy win whilst ignoring the major issues on society

this, overall, makes it incredibly easy to make us love pathetic as a group.

Time and place. The time is not 2pm Sunday. The place is not the middle of the freeway.

Trust me, I understand the temptation to go out and do silly shit - it gets you noticed, and in a scene with alot of people, some do want to stand out for whatever reason. But all you do is make yourself, and all of us look like fools.

The way it is going, owning a turbo car will be outlawed. It is up to us to influence those attitudes.

I agree with you about the name and shame, .

So with the S13 kicking it sideways in the picture, The Evo in the emergency lane, the Ute cutting lanes, Will you be handing that to the police?

Only way they will learn, YES it will effect the club and bring less cars to the cruise but think about it this way, people who DO behave will be the one's attending.

Pretty much what TJ said sums it up extremely well. I was the one that got overtaken by the Evo and there was definately not enough room for him to get between myself and Moddy who was in front. When I see people start swerving I get ready to dodge a hazard on the road, not assume they are warming up tires like a fucking retard.

Pretty much every club gets shit. If the recent ALM cruise had been my first, I may have thought AL was full of muppets (several crashes, punch ups, SV6 trying to rip a skid at first meet etc). I know that AL is anything but that and is a wonderful club to be a part of.

JDMWA have at least tried to clean up known muppets (considering there have only been a few cruises) and hopefully with those photos, more will be removed. My mate known as 'the pingpingpingping that blew everyone's ears out with the antilag last JDM cruise' attended this one as a passenger. A JDMWA admin actually came up to him and made sure he was not in his wrx, and that the admin loved the noise, but after complaints he would not be allowed to bring his wrx back to JDMWA cruises.
