Alright, not quite sure what forum to put it in, but I'm looking for someone who can accurately tell me the lift/duration/etc on a camshaft I bought for LS1. (also if it's still true and straight?-used in engine, muppet didn't like the idle apparently)

Will pay in 4/6 pack booze of winners discretion...

Also.....
I want a gearbox - 4L60E, automatic, from LS1 preferred, but v6 is basically same same. Doesn't have to work, as long as eg: 2nd cog isn't stripped, or has holes in casting. Looking to (attempt) a rebuild. $100-$250 depending on quality.

Whoever can help, maddest khunts!!

Cheers, wormbo

do you physically have the cam? im sure there is someone in perth who could run it on a cam machine to tell you the lifts/durations etc.

unless you have the cam card any actual number written on the camshaft will mean diddly.

Mooch(lasoya): yeah, you gave me a cam and no information, can't match converter or anything til I know specs bra!!

Agit8d: you read it right! Haha

Alright, will chase some info from WAPERF, apparently the cam was installe and remove by them, so history should be at least vaguely available

It's a small custom cam, makes over 400. If WAPerf didn't tell Lasoya the specs they may not tell you either, but they might tune it for you? Otherwise it shouldn't be too hard for anyone else to tune it.

*edit* They should be able to recommend you a converter size based on the cam without telling you the cam specs, so try for that. They have a forum section here..

"small" cam that makes over 400, doesn't sound small. Same cam that is in Tom's ute? Maybe ask him SSICK

For starters it was my original cam. Was already in the clubby when i brought it 3 or so years ago. I never got rid of it cause of the idle....i upgraded to a bigger cam obviously, when mitch pulled the old small cam out there was no markings on it etc and he told me to get it checked on a cam machine if i wanted the lift and duration stats. the orginal cam still made 392rwhp cam only before i pulled it out to upgrade, should be like 222/224 something spec i would say

So it's NOT a HSV standard cam?! Eg: actually a branded cam - crow/lunati/crane?
Whatev, If I put it in and it doesn't light up 2nd on the fly, I'm shittin in your letterbox lasoya. Haha! Xo

Correct. You don't make 392 on a standard cam without boost or a cooked dyno. 4.11 diff gears and an angry box you should be able to light up 2nd without too much issue.

Cam only mate stock heads

Maddo, no its not a stock cam, will light up second easy, with it fitted and a maffless tune in the auto you will probably pull around the 330-360rwhp

first cam made over 400, new cam with heads makes close to 440.

purpo ute cam makes tad under 420 on e85.

not really small cams but not the biggest either. important thing here is they light the tyres in 3rd - 4th.

Maddison - can buy my motor and diff for 5500. 440rwhp. will do skids.
